The second duct is shaped like a truncated cone of revolution, wherein a distribution means is arranged at the base of the cone to determine the amount of air flow passing through the space between the first and second ducts. A barrel extension comprising at least one peripheral tube surrounding a central tube connectable to the outlet of the hair dryer. The second duct of the hair dryer, at the air outlet of the hair dryer, arranged to be connectable to the central tube of a barrel extension.
