    Abstract: Instrument panel including means for displaying the speed of the vehicle consisting of basically horizontal, superimposed scales. The scales are activated at particular ranges of speeds so that at higher speeds the activated scale is higher in the driver's field of vision. The length of the speed display scales is essentially inversely proportional to their height in the driver's field of vision.
