  • Patent number: 4668208
Abstract: A variable speed drive pulley, especially for automobile vehicles, comprises coaxial first and second pulley flanges which rotate with a hub and are in axial face-to-face relationship to receive a belt between them. At least the first pulley flange is a mobile pulley flange slidably mounted on the hub with radial clearance. It is thus movable along the hub between two extreme configurations, in at least one of which a primary bearing surface on the mobile pulley flange is in axial face-to-face relationship with a secondary bearing surface. An anti-friction member is disposed axially between the primary and secondary bearing surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4639239
Abstract: It is a matter of a variable speed drive pulley with which is associated a regulating chamber adapted to be connected to a source of fluid, this regulating chamber being sealed in particular by a seal which, coupled axially to the mobile flange, is disposed in line with an abutment spacer also defining one of the extreme positions of the mobile flange. The abutment spacer is carried by the bush of the mobile flange on the side of the bush facing the other flange, it features a transverse collar which is directed radially towards the axis of the assembly and by which it delimits, for its part, a housing in which is disposed the associated seal and, conjointly, passages are provided in a generally radial direction in said bush and the hub of the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4639238
Abstract: A variable speed drive pulley comprises a hub and two annular flange plates around the hub in face-to-face relationship. One of the flange plates is mobile axially relative to the hub. An annular diaphragm of variable cone angle has a peripheral part forming a Belleville spring washer and a central part divided into radial fingers. The Belleville spring washer bears axially on the mobile flange plate through a connection piece and an elastic material annular spacer to which the connection piece is attached. The radial fingers bear on a support piece fixed axially with respect to the hub. A fluid-tight regulating chamber is formed between the mobile flange plate, the diaphragm, the support piece and the hub. It is adapted to be connected to a source of fluid. Sealing means in one piece with the elastic material space are disposed between the connection piece and the mobile flange plate.

  • Patent number: 4624651
Abstract: The invention concerns variable speed drive pulleys comprising a hub and two annular flanges around the hub in axial face-to-face relationship to one another. At least one flange, the mobile flange, is movable relative to the hub in the axial direction. Elastic control means responsive to centrifugal force operate on the mobile flange so as to reduce the distance between the flanges when their rotation speed increases. A bearing surface on one flange and an elastic bearing member on the other, in axial face-to-face relationship to one another, are adapted by virtue of their mutual abutment to limit elastically the reduction in the axial distance between the flanges for increasing rotation speeds.

  • Patent number: 4617005
Abstract: A speed change device comprises a hub, two annular pulley sides disposed around the hub and facing each other, one of the pulley sides being mounted for axial movement on the hub against the bias of a diaphragm spring and an additional coil spring. The diaphragm spring has a peripheral portion rockably axially bearing against the one pulley side and a central portion having a plurality of radial fingers separated by slots, rockably axially bearing against an abutment member fixed axially relative to the hub. The additional coil spring is disposed around the hub, and bears against a shoulder fixed axially relative to the movable pulley side and against the abutment member through a central portion of the diaphragm spring. An elastic spacer is axially interposed between the coil spring and the diaphragm spring. Another spacer of elastic material is axially interposed between the diaphragm spring and the abutment member.

  • Patent number: 4598677
Abstract: In an automotive vehicle having an internal combustion engine, an arrangement of the auxiliary equipment units comprises an alternator and a compressor grouped together and driven in rotation at the same speed from the engine by common drive means. The alternator and the compressor are fastened together and centered coaxially with one another by an intermediate part by means of which they are also mounted on the side of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4460056
Abstract: The invention comprises an engine-driven auxiliary system for a motor vehicle. At least two auxiliaries are coupled in rotation with the crankshaft of the vehicle engine by transmission means. These auxiliaries include auxiliaries which constitute a hierarchic group with an order of operational priority in which at least one of the auxiliaries takes precedence over at least one other of the auxiliaries. The state of an economizer element varies concomitantly with the working conditions of the auxiliary having the higher priority, and is adapted to put the auxiliary with the lower priority at least partly out of action when the working conditions of the higher priority auxiliary exceed a predetermined threshold.
