Patent number: 6662560Abstract: The system produces movements in a home entertainment chair. It has a motor controller and a plurality of movement generator units for generating small amplitude and low frequency movements in the viewer's chair. The system is intended for home use and can be easily installed under each leg of a chair or of a sofa or at the corners of a platform. The source of movement control signals can be derived from a video presentation soundtrack, and directional movement sensations can be created by inducing controlled movements in each leg of the viewer's chair.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2001Date of Patent: December 16, 2003Assignee: D-Box Technology Inc.Inventors: Philippe Roy, Michel Bérubé, Michel Jacques

Patent number: 6041931Abstract: A lidded container for lobsters or like crustacean comprises a container formed of plastics material having sidewalls, endwalls and a bottom wall and a lid formed of plastics material which is adapted to be hingedly secured to the container sidewalls to move between an open position and a close position. The lid has a top wall formed of a series of upwardly projecting ribs defining wells to receive and retain therein ice which, when melted, passes through perforations in the bottom faces of the wells to circulate about the lobsters. The water then exits through apertures in the sidewalls, endwalls and bottom wall of the container.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1999Date of Patent: March 28, 2000Assignee: IPL Inc.Inventor: Michel Jacques

Patent number: 5988420Abstract: A container lid has a top wall with a series of recessed areas that include therewithin a plurality of geometrical projections and a bottom wall that displays a plurality of recesses complementary in shape to the projections of the top wall whereby identically shaped lids may be stacked or cross-stacked in nested condition with the projections of one lid being received in the corresponding recesses of a superposed lid. The lid is adapted to be affixed to a container having four side pieces and a bottom piece, the configuration of the lid allowing a stacking or cross-stacking arrangement of lid-covered containers with their side pieces in the erected position as well as the stacking or cross-stacking of lid-covered containers with their side pieces in an inwardly folded position.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1999Date of Patent: November 23, 1999Assignee: IPL, Inc.Inventors: Michel Jacques, Roch Nolet

Patent number: 5746342Abstract: A five-piece container for items, such as bottles, comprises a bottom piece, a pair of side pieces of identical height and a pair of end pieces also of identical height; each side edge and each end edge of the bottom piece display a series of planar surfaces interspaced with a series of recessed areas in which is defined a hinge that engagedly receives a C-shaped extension formed at the lower edge of each side piece and of each end piece so that the side and end pieces may be mounted to the bottom piece through a snap engagement. The end pieces and the side pieces can be moved between an outward foldback position and an erected position; however, an inward folded position cannot be effected due to the configuration of the lower edge of the side pieces and of the end pieces and that of the edges of the bottom piece. The folding configuration is useful for containers that have walls higher than the width of the bottom thus preventing the walls from being folded inside.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1997Date of Patent: May 5, 1998Assignee: IPL, Inc.Inventors: Michel Jacques, Roch Nolet

Patent number: 5699926Abstract: The invention described consists of a five-piece container for carrying bottles and of a stabilizer tablet for steadying the bottles in their vertical position in the container. The container comprises a bottom piece formed of plastics material and of opposite side pieces and opposite end pieces also formed of plastics material and hingedly connected to the side and end edges of the bottom piece whereby the side pieces and the end pieces may be pivoted between an erected position and an outward foldback position and vice-versa. The stabilizer tablet consists of a flat board displaying a series of openings each having a size to engage the neck portions of the bottles and to thereby minimize up, down, and sideway movements of the bottles in the container.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1996Date of Patent: December 23, 1997Assignee: IPL, Inc.Inventors: Michel Jacques, Roch Nolet

Patent number: 5622333Abstract: An adjustable wire reel that is formed of a pair of identical reel members made of plastics material which are interlocked to one another. Each reel member is provided with a series of circumferentially spaced barrel sections having at their extremities tongues which engage cooperating slots on the inner side of the opposite reel member. This inner side is provided with stepped surfaces in which these slots are provided so that the reel members may be interlocked in any one of these stepped surfaces so as to provide a reel with various spacings between flange portions of the reel members.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 1996Date of Patent: April 22, 1997Assignee: IPL Inc.Inventor: Michel Jacques

Patent number: 5515987Abstract: A five-piece plastic container for carrying items, such as fruits and vegetables, comprises a bottom piece and four side pieces; each side edge of the bottom piece includes a series of horizontally spaced recessed areas and a horizontally extending integrally formed hinge traversing the recessed area. Each lower edge of the side pieces includes a series of horizontally spaced extensions defining a C-shaped profile which is adapted to be received within a corresponding one of the recessed areas for the assembly of the side pieces to the bottom piece. The profile is configured to enable a snap engagement and disengagement with and from the hinges, allowing the side pieces to be moved between an outward foldback position, an erected position and an inwardly folded position. The disclosure also describes a seven-piece container.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1995Date of Patent: May 14, 1996Assignee: IPL Inc.Inventors: Michel Jacques, Roch Nolet

Patent number: 5165709Abstract: A snowmobile ski is made of two main parts, namely a steel stiffener and a sole made of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) to which a friction reducing additive has been added. The front handle is molded integrally with the ski sole and then bent back and secured to the sole and stiffener. The sole has upstanding projections on which the stiffener rests so that spaces are provided which allow the sole to deflect when impacted thereby reducing transmission of impacts to the stiffener. The stiffener is formed with a main stiffener and secondary stiffeners provided only when the ski is to be attached to the suspension assembly. The secondary stiffeners coact with the main stiffener to increase the strength and rigidity while minimizing the weight increase.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 1990Date of Patent: November 24, 1992Assignee: Bombardier Inc.Inventor: Michel Jacques
