  • Patent number: 6099718
Abstract: A sinusoidal voltage is appied to a zirconium alloy clad fuel rod. The current is measured and the impedance is determined to provide a check for the compactness and adhesion of an oxide surface layer on the fuel rod.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 13, 1998
Date of Patent: August 8, 2000
Assignee: Societe Franco-Belge de Fabrication de Combustible - FBFC
Inventors: Dominique Duthoo, Fanjas Yves, Alain Frichet, Michel Ladet
  • Patent number: 4681665
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process and apparatus for electrochemical treatment in a static mode or in a feed motion mode of the surface of metal products of elongate shape. The process is characterized in that cathodic and anodic zones are produced within the same volume of electrolyte, the zones being separated from each other and being displaced parallel to the product in a cyclic manner. The process is carried out in a cell having a single compartment in which there are at least four electrodes, two of which have voltage applied thereto. The invention is applied more particularly to aluminium, magnesium, titanium and alloys thereof, in order to provide for regular treatment of the entire surface of the product.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 24, 1984
Date of Patent: July 21, 1987
    Assignee: Aluminium Pechiney
Inventors: Robert Guillermet, Michel Ladet, Gerard Laslaz, Claude Le Bars
  • Patent number: 4408110
Abstract: The invention relates to elements of aluminum, such as bars, sections or apparatus components for forming electrical contacts capable of withstanding mechanical and thermal stressing. The method by which these elements are produced consists in depositing a firmly adhering layer of nickel to the aluminum substrate at least in the contact zone. The quality of the contact is further improved when the nickel-plated element is in contact with a silver-plated element. The elements according to the invention may be used for the production of pin-type contacts and any other devices for making or breaking electrical circuits, such as isolators, circuit breakers and contactors.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 7, 1981
Date of Patent: October 4, 1983
Assignee: Societe de Vente de l'Aluminium Pechiney
Inventors: Michel Ladet, Jacques Lefebvre, Jos Patrie
