  • Publication number: 20240232917
Abstract: A computing apparatus comprising: one or more computer readable storage media, one or more processors operatively coupled with the one or more computer readable storage media, and program instructions stored on the one or more computer readable storage media that, when executed by the one or more processors, direct the computing apparatus to at least: receive an image of an emotions board, wherein the emotions board includes a canvas and response cards of group members arranged on the canvas in proximity to polling cards. For at least a response card of the response cards, the program instructions direct the computing device to identify a position of the response card on the canvas, identify an emotion corresponding to the position on the canvas, identify a group member associated with the response card, and log the emotion in association with the group member.

  • Patent number: 9791117
Abstract: A processing unit in a dual-mode lighting fixture receives, via a light pipe of the lighting fixture, a test command signal from a remote control and initiates, based on the test command signal, testing for emergency condition lighting of the lighting fixture. The processing unit receives, via the light pipe, a control command signal from the remote control and controls, based on the control command signal, normal condition lighting of the lighting fixture. The processing unit also monitors feedback loops from a battery, a charger, or a set of LED lamps in the lighting fixture and presents, via the light pipe, a status color indication based on the monitored feedback.

  • Publication number: 20080239709
Abstract: An emergency lighting fixture includes a door and light source disposed on the door. The door rotates 360 degrees in one direction. A slip clutch assembly permits manual rotation of the door when obstructed by a motor or to remain in the same position when obstructed during rotation by the motor. A capacitor stores energy to close the door. A pressure locking assembly includes a bearing ball biased into engagement with an alignment hole by a spring in response to the door being rotated near a predetermined position. A conductive clip maintains electrical contact with a conductive portion of a hinge as the door rotates. The conductive clip is connected to a power source, and the light source is connected to the conductive portion of the hinge, thereby providing power to the light source after the door has stopped in a pre-determined position or during rotation of the door. The fixture may be used in non-emergency lighting applications.

  • Publication number: 20080019142
Abstract: A lamp assembly and method for illuminating a backlit sign include at least one circuit board and light emitting diodes mounted on the circuit board. The light emitting diodes are oriented such that a majority of emitted light or a beam from the circuit board is directed to only a portion of the backlit sign. The light emitting diodes are positioned uniformly around a perimeter of the circuit board to ensure uniform illumination around the lamp assembly. The circuit boards are arranged parallel to each other and perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the lamp assembly. The lamp assembly includes a plurality of resistors mounted on the circuit board such that heat dissipated by the resistors is uniformly distributed over the circuit board. The lamp assembly also includes a Bridge rectifier to provide a DC output voltage from AC or DC input voltages.

  • Patent number: 5636308
Abstract: An optical-fiber cable containing at least one optical member, and at least one strength member constructed such that members are inserted in respective hollow cavities within a covering made of thermoplastic. The cavities are closed relative to the outside of the cable, and all the cavities receiving optical members communicate with one another, with at least two of the cavities communicating with each other. The members contained in the cavities that communicate with each other are coated with a viscous, non-adhering coating material preventing them from adhering to the thermoplastic covering so that the covering defines a central portion having at least two branches, the central portion containing no thermoplastic and being filled with the coating material. Each branch is terminated at one of its ends by a respective cavity communicating with other cavities and having its other end joined to the other ends of the other branches.
