Patent number: 11548672Abstract: The film sealing and wrapping machine with a rotary cut and seal jaw is provided. The rotary cut and seal jaw has an internal sliding mechanism which provides for smooth and quiet operation. The rotational speed of the jaw may be varied to increase through put and to provide for a title bag around products. The rotary cut and seal jaw may comprise a seal bar and pressure pad may both be spring loaded to self align the seal bar and pressure pad during the sealing and cutting process. Lastly, a gap defined by a belt disposed upstream and downstream of the seal bar and pressure pad may be mechanically linked to the pressure pad through a control carriage.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2019Date of Patent: January 10, 2023Assignee: nVenia LLCInventors: Raymond Uttaro, John Robinson, Michel Laurin

Patent number: 8524177Abstract: A process for separating zinc from a feedstock containing a mixture of metals and metal compounds. The process includes leaching a zinc-containing feedstock with a concentrated basic solution, optionally diluting the slurry with an amount of water sufficient to reduce the viscosity of the slurry thereby facilitating separation of a pregnant liquor containing dissolved zinc from insoluble materials, separating the insoluble materials from the pregnant liquor, and precipitating zinc oxide from the pregnant liquor by adding an anti-solvent to the pregnant liquor. The described process also provides for recycling of the basic solution and the anti-solvent.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2011Date of Patent: September 3, 2013Assignee: Canadus Chemical LLCInventors: Michel Laurin, Stephen C. Paspek

Patent number: 8251246Abstract: A container including a top wall, the top wall defining a container first aperture and a container second aperture. A first and a second lid are provided. The first and second lid are configured so as to be each movable between a lid closed position and a lid opened position for selectively blocking and freeing respectively the container first and second apertures. A lock is configurable between a lock first configuration and a lock second configuration. In the lock first configuration, the container first lid is locked in the closed position by the lock and the container second lid is freely movable between the opened and closed positions. In the lock second configuration, the container second lid is locked in the closed position by the lock and the container first lid is freely movable between the opened and closed positions.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2009Date of Patent: August 28, 2012Inventor: Michel Laurin

Patent number: 5098579Abstract: Disclosed is a method for treating in a continuous manner an aqueous solution containing ions of a given type in order to remove these ions from the solution. According to this method, the aqueous solution containing the ions to be removed is first neutralized if it is acidic. Then, it is contacted with a metal salt which is sparingly soluble in water and has a very strong affinity to react with the ions to be removed to form therewith another salt which is insoluble in water, for a period of time sufficient to allow this other salt to be formed and precipitate. This method is very efficient and can be used, by way of example, for removing chromium ions from an industrial waste water, using barium carbonate as sparingly soluble salt.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1990Date of Patent: March 24, 1992Assignee: Hydro QuebecInventors: Charles H.
