  • Patent number: 5218324
Abstract: A device for the control of a phase-locked loop with frequency changing comprises an oscillator (10), a mixer (20) of signals, and a phase/frequency detector (40). The control device comprises a frequency comparator (60) to compare the frequency Fv of the signal given by the oscillator and the transposition frequency Fx, and an inhibiting circuit (70) sensitive to the frequency comparator and interposed between the mixer and the phase/frequency detector to block the beat frequency Fv-Fx at input of the phase/frequency detector. The disclosed device can be used to release the loop automatically during major changes in the loop control frequency F.

  • Patent number: 4792767
Abstract: This phase and frequency detector, receiving two logic input signals R and V, comprises a set of 2k+2 memory cells, cascade arranged and linked in twos by 2K+1 control cells, capable especially of transferring the information contained in the changes of state of the signals R and V, from the end memory cells to which they are respectively applied, and by each of the directions respectively, to a memory cell MU.sub.n or MD.sub.n (depending on whether the signal R is ahead or delayed with respect to the signal V), this cell then giving square waves the duty factor of which is proportionate to the instantaneous phase shift .DELTA..phi. between the signals R and V, when (2.pi.-1)n<.vertline..DELTA..phi..vertline.<.pi..

  • Patent number: 4739330
Abstract: A frequency modulation radio altimeter has a directional antenna which is connected to a transmission-reception switch controlled by a signal generator. The generator delivers periodic signals whose recurrence period is proportional to the delay time of the ground echo. The transmitter includes a radio frequency modulator modulated in frequency by a saw tooth signal whose recurrence period is proportional to the delay time of the ground echo. A homodyne receiver includes circuits for acquiring and tracking the ground echo signal, and supplies an output signal representative of the altitude and a control signal which is supplied to the inputs controlling the recurrence period of the transmission modulator and of the generator controlling the transmission-reception switch.

  • Patent number: 4682175
Abstract: Apparatus for reducing the composite coupling signal in a frequency modulated, continuous wave radar having a single antenna and a duplexer includes a modulation signal generator coupled to a continuous wave oscillator to provide input to the duplexer. A directional coupler at the duplexer input provides input to an adjustable phase-shifter which provides a phase-shifted signal to an RF mixer. The RF mixer receives a second input from the output of the duplexer and provides a mixed signal. A level modulator having an adjustable control input receives a portion of the modulated signal from the modulation signal generator. The level modulator then provides an output to the audio amplifier which also receives the mixed signal from the RF mixer. The audio amplifier provides an output signal having reduced composite coupling signal components.

  • Patent number: 4218656
Abstract: An arrangement for the remote transmission of information for the remote guidance of vehicles subject to severe acceleration. The arrangement is formed by a transmitter outside the vehicle and by a receiver on board of the vehicle. The transmitter is provided with a first source enabling a first signal of predetermined frequency to be generated and with a second source enabling a second signal of a different frequency to be generated. The receiver is provided with a mixing device consisting of a microwave diode biased in its non linear conduction zone in operation, the mixing device enabling a signal to be generated whose frequency is equal to the difference between the different frequencies of the first and second signal. A device for processing the signal whose frequency is equal to the frequency difference between the first and second signal is connected to the mixing device.
