  • Publication number: 20230313475
Abstract: An ice removal apparatus that is configured to facilitate the removal of ice from a surface such as but not limited to a sidewalk or driveway. The present invention includes a head portion configured to be superposed a surface having a handle portion extending upwards therefrom to facilitate operation of the ice removal apparatus by a user. The head portion includes a body having a first end and a second end. The body is formed in a triangular from with the point proximate the first end. The body is further formed to have a thickness proximate the first end that is greater than that of the second end wherein the body is sloped downward from the first end to the second end. The body includes a centerline having opposing lateral sections with respect thereto. The opposing lateral section slope downward from the centerline to opposing lateral edges.

  • Publication number: 20230234543
Abstract: A vehicle braking apparatus that is constructed to be operably coupled to a trailer or a vehicle and provide emergency braking and stoppage thereof. The apparatus of the present invention includes a lever arm that is pivotally coupled to the frame of the trailer or vehicle. The lever arm has secured to the second end thereof an engagement member. The engagement member is planar in manner and configured to be parallel to the road surface. A support member is coupled to the frame and the lever arm and is operable to maintain the lever arm in a downward angled position ensuing the apparatus being placed in its operational position. The vehicle braking apparatus includes a deployment member operable to rapidly deploy the apparatus to its operational position. A biasing member maintains a downward force on the engagement member when the vehicle braking apparatus is in its operational position.

  • Patent number: 9246844
Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method for controlling the operation of a service in a client device. The invention uses an existing protocol which is used for communications between an application resident in the device and a remote server to convey information about the service to the application. The information may be relevant to a service specific function, such as configuration or provisioning, or an activation or de-activation instruction, for example. The application receives the service related information, processes the information and then provides the information to the service via a notification channel. The service related information may be incorporated into a message sent from the remote server to the client device by using an element of the protocol, for example, by appending a text string to a header.

  • Publication number: 20140317230
Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method for improving the user experience when accessing web pages containing embedded objects over a network. In one embodiment, information regarding the contents of a locally accessible cache is added to a request directed to a web server. The information is used to control certain aspects of a pre-fetch process that is designed to reduce network latency affects and improve network resource utilization, thereby improving a user's experience. The cache contents information may be provided to an intermediate server via a modification to an existing request-response protocol, with the information being encoded or compressed if desired to reduce data transport requirements. The information is used by the intermediate server to determine whether to request an embedded object referenced in the requested resource or web page, and to determine if a browser having access to the cache will request the object or access the object from the local cache.

  • Patent number: 6515598
Abstract: A system and method for compressing and decompressing data in real time begins by taking a character string from an input string, generating a hash value of the character string which is utilized in a look up table to address a chained array or list of previously matching character strings. The array is updated if there is another.matching character string found when compressing the input string. A token generator writes a code to the output string indicating whether or not that there has been a match. The token generator generates an indication of the length of the character string not compressed, the one or more characters string not compressed, the length of a matching character string, and the number of characters processed since the last match. These values generated by the token generator are optimally represented based upon preselected criteria.
