  • Patent number: 6534573
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for reducing bleeding number in wax compositions comprising wax and oil, wherein said waxes are selected from petroleum and synthetic waxes and said oil is present in the range of 1 to 45% w/w, by incorporating in the composition an effective amount of an oil retention agent in the form of an elastomeric polymer. The invention has particularly useful application to wax compositions used for wax candles. The invention further provides the use of elastomeric polymers for reducing bleeding number in wax compositions.

  • Patent number: 6473247
Abstract: The invention concerns a support of the type comprising at least a first base (13), and, borne by the latter, for maintaining such an optical lens (10) at its edge (11), at least three support pins (14A, 14B). The invention is characterized in that the base comprises, for its own support, a plane support surface (16) whereof the peripheral outline (P1) is globally circular, its radial dimension (D1) along a particular radius (R) of said support surface (16) is at least equal to its axial dimension (D2) perpendicularly to the plane thereof. The invention is particularly useful for maintaining an optical lens in a processing apparatus using spin coating technique.

  • Patent number: 5750268
Abstract: A multilayer polymer composition comprising at least one relatively soft touch layer comprising at least one block copolymer derived from a monovinyl aromatic and a conjugated diene, and at least one layer of relatively hard, rigid thermoplastic which have intimate contact with each other, characterized in that it comprises:(a) at least one relatively soft layer composition comprising(i) a polar engineering thermoplast in an amount of from 5 to 50 wt %(ii) from 0 to 80 wt % of a selectively hydrogenated block copolymer having at least two poly(monovinyl aromatic) blocks and at least one poly(conjugated diene) block, wherein the residual ethylenic unsaturation after hydrogenation is at most 5%,(iii) from 5 to 85 wt % of a selectively hydrogenated block copolymer having at least two poly(monovinyl aromatic) blocks and at least one poly(conjugated diene) block wherein the residual ethylenic unsaturation after hydrogenation is at most 5%, said block copolymer being functionalized by means of introduced polar grou

  • Patent number: 4520871
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes a system for extinguishing fires which consists in first maintaining a supply of liquid fire extinguishing medium in a tank under a pressure cushion of expellant material; the medium is delivered upon detection of a hazard by opening a normally closed valve in a delivery line connected to the tank; this operation triggers a sequential operation of a plurality of groups of expellant containers which causes additional expellant material to be delivered to the tank to maintain therein a given pressure so as to effect quick and total evacuation of the fire extinguishing medium from the tank to the hazard.
