  • Publication number: 20150027441
Abstract: A nebulizer device including a mesh aerosol generator combined with an inhalation chamber formed with three openings and a single one-way expiratory valve, a first opening being connected to the patient and used for the transport and administration of the particles from the device to the patient, the said first opening being placed upstream of the aerosol generator, a second opening placed upstream of the device aerosol generator allowing the passage of air from the outside of the chamber to the inside of the inhalation chamber, and allowing the complete ventilation of the inside of the inhalation chamber, a third opening, placed downstream of the aerosol generator and upstream of the said first opening, provided with a single one-way expiratory valve allowing the exhalation of the air from the patient through this third opening, the said third opening being closed by means of the one-way expiratory valve during the inhalation phases and open during the exhalation phases, and whereby the resistance of the sai

  • Patent number: 8894604
Abstract: A device for administration of an aerosol includes a generator of particles of size between 10 nm and 200 um, a mouthpiece or mouth mask for oral administration of the aerosol during the nasal exhalation phase or during the respiratory pause phase preceding nasal exhalation, and a source of gas or pressure for conveying the particles. The mouthpiece is airtight, extends beyond the teeth of the patient by a maximum length of 4 cm, and administers the aerosol for the nasal cavities, the rhinopharynx or the paranasal sinuses during aerosol administration phases, such that the is successively applied to the mouth, the rhinopharynx and then the nasal fossae and the sinuses, and then the aerosol escapes via one or both of the patient's nostrils. The device does not allow exhalation via the mouth during aerosol administration phases, and the aerosol particles not being directed to the lungs.

  • Patent number: 8006693
Abstract: An aerosol transfer device for medical aerosol generators comprises an elongate shaped hollow member, located in a vertical plane constituting an aerosol storage area. The member has a first opening allowing entry of outside air. The first opening is located on an upper or lower horizontal surface of the member to ensure vertical air entry. A second opening opposite said first opening allows escape of aerosol, and a third opening serves for spraying aerosol into the storage area in the vertical plane and in axial alignment with the air inlet opening. The member has a minimum height of 6 cm and allows dispersion of the sprayed aerosol without recycling aerosol deposited on the walls. The member is located between an aerosol generator source and a patient interface and does not include any valve on the aerosol path from the storage area to the patient.

  • Publication number: 20060137685
Abstract: An aerosol transfer device for medical aerosol generators comprises an additional shaped element located in a vertical plane constituting an aerosol storage area. The additional element being designed with a first opening allowing movement of air from outside the storage area into the latter and being located on an upper or lower horizontal surface of the element in order to ensure vertical entry of air into the element, a second opening opposite said first opening allowing the escape of aerosol and a third opening for spraying aerosol into the storage area in the vertical plane of the storage area and in axial alignment with the first opening. The additional element has a minimum height of 6 cm and allows dispersion of the sprayed aerosol throughout the storage area without recycling the aerosol deposited on the walls of the storage area. The storage area is located between the aerosol generator source and the patient interface and allows, by means of a transport area, aerosol transport to the patient.
