  • Patent number: 8493239
Abstract: A method and a device are provided for detecting lack of reaction of the crew of an aircraft to an alarm related to a path. The method includes monitoring the emitting condition of a plurality of alarms related to dangers in the path of the aircraft and monitoring a reaction of a crew during first and second time intervals determined based on how long the crew should take to response to the initial alarm in the first time interval and an auxiliary alarm in the second time interval. The method also includes implementing automatic avoidance operation for coping with the danger if the crew has not reacted to the alarms by the end of the second time interval.

  • Patent number: 4708498
Abstract: A roller bearing assembly having an outer case (1) which contains an elastically yieldable sleeve 2 in which is enclosed a thin elastically yieldable ring 3 whose inner surface acts as a raceway for rollers or needles (6) carried by the cage (7). The elastic ring has a plurality of angularly spaced apart regions discontinuities (4a, 4b) defining pre-stressed regions adapted to ensure, by a radial deformation, a localized gripping of the rollers or needles under the action of the sleeve when the roller bearing assembly is mounted on a shaft (8). The outer case (1), the sleeve (2), the roller bearing ring (3) and the cage (7) have an openable structure which permit their spreading being apart to an open for ensuring the mounting of the roller bearing assembly by a lateral engagement of its component parts on the shaft without ends of insertion thereon from either each of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4047133
Abstract: A method of producing continuous lengths of coilable corrugated wave guide of rectangular cross-section which comprises forming a smooth-wall metal tube wth a uniform wall thickness along the entire length and around the entire periphery, and transversely corrugating the walls of the tube along crest and root lines that form a substantially constant perimeter length around any cross-section of the corrugated tube taken perpendicular to the axis of the tube at any point along the length of the tube. In one embodiment, the corrugations of intersecting walls are offset at their intersection so that the crests of the corrugations of each wall meet the roots of the corrugations of the adjacent wall at each corner, with zigzag crests along the corners providing rigidity.

  • Patent number: 3968918
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing continuous lengths of coaxial products, such as coaxial cable, having concentric inner and outer conductors or other members, and an intermediate layer of dielectric or insulating material between the inner and outer members. A continuous length of the inner member is continuously advanced while a concentric layer of insulating material is continuously formed on the outer surface of the inner member, with the radial thickness of the insulating layer increasing in the machine direction in a predetermined zone traversed by the continuously advancing inner member. A continuous flat metal strip is continuously advanced alongside the inner member and is formed into an outer member surrounding the inner member, after which the longitudinal edge portions of the rolled strip are joined before the insulating material reaches its maximum radial thickness.
