  • Patent number: 6690565
Abstract: The attenuation of the stray current impulse limits the capacitive leakage. The value of the inductance, coupled to the parasitic capacitance of the charge, creates a reactive filter effect. Since the effect is reactive, the impulse energy is not absorbed. The energy is therefore redistributed in time, but since the intensity of the tension is greatly diminished, the coupling through the capacitances is diminished. The apparatus comprises a core which includes 1, 2, 3 or 4 coils. The apparatus is typically a high quality reactance which includes a low reactive value in opposition of the line current (residual mode) and a high reactive value for the circulation of the parallel current (common mode).

  • Patent number: 5825170
Abstract: The neutralizing system comprises a low impedance current transformer for detecting an alternating stray current flowing through a ground return circuit in the proximity of an animal susceptible to be subjected to this stray current and the corresponding alternating stray voltage. The current transformer has a 1:1 primary-to-secondary transformation ratio. The neutralizing device further comprises a chain of amplification responsive to the alternating stray current detected by the current transformer to produce an alternating compensating current having an amplitude and phase respectively related to the amplitude and phase of the detected alternating stray current. Finally, a magnetic coupling circuit magnetically couples the alternating compensating current to the ground return circuit in view of inducing in that ground return circuit an alternating compensating voltage adding to the alternating stray voltage to substantially cancel this stray voltage and, a consequence the stray current.

  • Patent number: 5487359
Abstract: An electric device is adapted to detect the level of liquid in a receptacle in view of controlling this level of liquid. The receptacle is installed on a milking system for accumulating either milk drawn through piping of the milking system from at least an animal being milked or water during a washing operation of that piping. At least two electrodes are mounted in the receptacle. When the level of liquid reaches a predetermined level, the two electrodes are electrically interconnected and a detecting current flows through the liquid between the two electrodes. The detecting current has a frequency situated within a frequency range substantially higher than 60 Hz, in which the animal being milked has a lower sensitivity to electric current.

  • Patent number: 5321318
Abstract: A method and device neutralize alternating stray current flowing through a ground return circuit in the proximity of an animal susceptible to be affected by this current. The alternating stray current flowing through the ground return circuit is sensed and a signal representative of that stray current is produced. In response to this current representative signal, an alternating compensatory current is generated and injected in the ground return circuit. The alternating compensatory current has an amplitude equal to the amplitude of the sensed stray current and is out of phase with respect to that stray current by an angle of 180.degree.. Therefore, the alternating compensatory current and the alternating stray current add in the ground return circuit and substantially cancel each other whereby the stray current can no longer affect the animal.
