  • Patent number: 7447191
Abstract: A power supply distributor permits to broadcast data received in phantom mode at one of its port to at least few of the other ports such that the respective apparatus connected to the power supply distributor will receive them. The power supply distributor includes modems for at least few of the communications links, while the modems are connected between each other through a multiplexer. Optionally, the multiplexer is setup with a switching function. This enables advantageously to select the ports to which received data in phantom mode will be forwarded allowing to buildup a communications link between different apparatus, such link being based solely on transmission of data in phantom mode. Such links can be setup in a bi-directional modus between at least two apparatus. A ghost network is designed which is mapped on an existing network and based on transmission of data in a phantom mode.

  • Patent number: 6954863
Abstract: A method of rebooting terminals connected to a local area network capable of providing a remote power supply to the terminals from at least one remote power supply unit, in particular terminals receiving a local power supply and which can receive a remote power supply in the event of failure of their local power supply, commands rebooting of the terminals by means of a command signal consisting of interruption of a remote power supply provided to the terminals by a remote power supply unit.

  • Publication number: 20030035472
Abstract: A power supply distributor according to the invention permits to broadcast data received in phantom mode at one of its port to at least few of the other ports such that the respective apparatus connected to said power supply distributor will receive them. Main characteristics are the modems for at least few of the communications links, while said modems being connected between each other through a multiplexer. Optionally, said multiplexer is setup with a switching function. This enables advantageously to select the ports to which received data in phantom mode will be forwarded allowing to buildup a communications link between different apparatus, such link being based solely on transmission of data in phantom mode. Such links can be setup in a bi-directional modus between at least two apparatus. This allows to design a new ghost network mapped on an existing network and based on transmission of data in phantom mode.

  • Publication number: 20020196129
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for remotely powering at least one board or card interconnected with an other board or card, via a link point to point comprising at least two pairs of wires or lines, said cards or boards being mounted in a common backpanel and said other board or card incorporating a power source and/or being connected to an external power source, whereby electrical power is supplied over said linking wires or lines by means of a phantom circuit using both pairs of wires or lines.
