  • Patent number: 5377234
Abstract: An analytical testing means for determining the ion contents of nuclear reactor coolant water comprising ion chromatograph means and a conductivity detector. Reagent containing ion exchange resin is recycled, concentrated and the ion exchange resin regenerated to provide a more economic procedure.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 23, 1992
Date of Patent: December 27, 1994
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Michel N. Robles, Dane T. Snyder
  • Patent number: 5208165
Abstract: Water testing means for monitoring circulating water coolant in service within a water cooled nuclear reactor system is disclosed. The invention is an improvement in such water testing means and comprises a preconditioning of selected sample specimens of water with a pH adjustment for inhibiting unbalancing an equilibrium in solution of water coolant with ion solutes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 31, 1991
Date of Patent: May 4, 1993
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Robert J. Law, Michel N. Robles, Dane T. Snyder
  • Patent number: 5151244
Abstract: Water testing apparatus for monitoring circulating water coolant in service within a water cooled nuclear reactor system is disclosed. The invention is an improvement in such water testing apparatus and comprises filtering and a preconditioning of selected sample specimens of the coolant water with a pH adjustment for inhibiting unbalancing an equilibrium in solution of water coolant with ion solutes.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4472354
Abstract: An on-line and continuous sampling system for monitoring the ionic content of steam-producing water in a steam-operated electrical power plant. The monitoring system comprises a plurality of sampling lines and associated apparatus for sampling the steam-producing water at a number of different points in the power plant, an ion chromatographic subsystem for analyzing the sampled water, a calibration subsystem for calibrating the ion chromatographic subsystem, and an automatic control subsystem for operating the monitoring system of the present invention.
