  • Publication number: 20190362043
Abstract: A system and method involves partitioning a design of an integrated circuit into two or more hierarchical levels. A lowest level includes macros and a higher level includes some or all of the macros. Each of the macros includes two or more components. A macro timing model corresponding with each of the macros indicates a delay through the macro. The macro timing model corresponding with ones of the macros that are part of the higher level are loaded to perform higher-level timing analysis, which indicates a delay through the ones of the macros that are part of the higher level. Modified macro timing models corresponding with one or more of the macros are generated, and only the modified macro timing models associated with the macros that are part of the higher level modify corresponding loaded macro timing models to continue the higher-level timing analysis.

  • Patent number: 5550693
Abstract: A slider for providing an air bearing between a transducer and a moving recording surface includes a platform having a first surface with a leading edge opposite a trailing edge and a lateral axis between the leading and trailing edges. A plurality of projections extend from the first surface. At least one of the projections is disposed between the leading edge and the lateral axis and another of the projections is disposed between the trailing edge and the lateral axis. Each of the projections includes a second surface and a recess facing the leading edge. The recesses are bounded on their sides by shrouds that limit air bearing leakage. The recesses provide lift and stability to the slider when the recording surface is moving and always remain out of contact with the recording surface. To limit stiction, only the second surface of the projections is in apparent contact with the recording surface when the recording surface is stationary.

  • Patent number: 5328270
Abstract: An integrated bearing and pump assembly is formed by positioning a hydrodynamic pump coaxially with respect to a hydrodynamic bearing. The integrated assembly provides pressurized fluid for use within the device incorporating the bearing. The hydrodynamic pump comprises a secondary hydrodynamic bearing incorporated into the primary bearing assembly. The secondary bearing is optimized for high flow pumping applications rather than the high pressure, zero flow requirements of the primary bearing. When the bearing assembly is rotated, fluid flow is provided.
