Patent number: 9343890Abstract: A cable fitting includes a gland nut, a body, and a chuck. The gland nut includes first threads, an axial gland bore, and a first sloped surface along a portion of the axial gland bore. The body includes second threads to receive the first threads, an axial body bore, and a second sloped surface along a portion of the axial body bore. The chuck includes multiple segments joined in a hinged fashion to create a ring. Each of the multiple segments includes a distal end tapered surface and a proximal end tapered surface. When the gland nut is advanced onto the body, the first sloped surface applies a first compressive force to the distal end tapered surfaces, and the second sloped surface applies a second compressive force to the proximal end tapered surfaces. The compressive forces cause inward deformation of the chuck to secure a cable within an axial pathway.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2014Date of Patent: May 17, 2016Assignee: Thomas & Betts International LLCInventor: Jean-Michel Pelletier

Patent number: 9325163Abstract: A chuck for a cable fitting includes multiple segments substantially forming a ring shape. Each segment of the multiple segments includes a first tapered surface on a distal end, wherein the first tapered surface slopes from the distal end away from a central axis of the ring, and a second tapered surface on a proximal end, wherein the second tapered surface slopes from the proximal end away from the central axis. The chuck also includes a flexible band to hold the multiple segments in the ring shape. Each segment of the multiple segments is configured to receive compressive forces on the first tapered surface and the second tapered surface to force each segment of the multiple segments inwardly toward the central axis. The multiple segments are configured to engage a cable to secure the cable within the ring shape.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2014Date of Patent: April 26, 2016Assignee: Thomas & Betts International, LLCInventor: Jean-Michel Pelletier

Publication number: 20140197344Abstract: Embodiments of a manually operated valve for a shower installation system are described herein that include: an inlet and an outlet configured for installation of the valve along piping and a valve debit control mechanism including a valve chamber that defines a passage between the inlet and outlet, and a valve actuator that biases the valve debit control mechanism towards a closed position wherein the passage is obstructed and which is movable towards an opened position wherein the passage is opened when a triggering force is applied onto the valve actuator. The valve limits the consumption of water in a shower by automatically preventing the flow of water therethrough unless a user voluntarily triggers and maintains the opening of the valve.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2012Publication date: July 17, 2014Inventor: Michel Pelletier

Patent number: 6810609Abstract: A snow tiller (10) suitable for grooming ski hills, trails, or other areas, provides an adjustable profile tiller assembly. The snow tiller (10) is preferably pulled by a tracked vehicle (12) and has a tiller assembly formed of a plurality of tiller subassemblies (56,58). By varying the respective orientation of the tiller subassemblies (56,58), the snow tiller (10) can selectively provide coactive, level, convex, or more complex snow profiles depending upon the tiller configuration, snow conditions, and the intended uses. The snow tiller (10) also provides a control system to substantially maintain a selected snow profile while selectively permitting individual tiller subassemblies to float, thereby reducing the possibility of damage. The assembly can simultaneously provide an automatic release mode to protect the equipment from damage.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2002Date of Patent: November 2, 2004Assignee: Bombardier Inc.Inventors: Jean-Philippe Lassonde, Michel Pelletier

Publication number: 20040083627Abstract: A plow is supported for movement with respect to a frame of a vehicle with a lifting cylinder and a rolling cylinder. The lifting cylinder and the rolling cylinder are pivotally connected with respect to each other by a bracket that is pivotally supported by the frame. By this connection, the rolling cylinder can freely rotate with the bracket, thus increasing the plow displacement in both a raised and lowered position without adversely affecting the aggressivity of the plow while grooming terrain.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2003Publication date: May 6, 2004Applicant: Bombardier Inc.Inventor: Michel Pelletier

Patent number: 6354023Abstract: The invention relates to an improved snow grooming vehicle featuring a multifunction joystick adapted to selectively control a plurality of independent functions of various work implements installed on the snow grooming vehicle. More specifically, the multifunction joystick is adapted to select specific functions of a work implements and apply the movements of the joystick to these specific functions. If a new function is selected, the movements of the joystick are applied to the newly selected function while disabling the previously selected function From a single joystick, the operator may control a wide array of functions of the work implements installed on the snow grooming vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2001Date of Patent: March 12, 2002Assignee: Bombardier Inc.Inventors: Claude Trahan, Michel Pelletier

Patent number: 5067263Abstract: In the realm of snow grooming devices for ski hills, a unique snow tiller is disclosed. The snow tiller is pulled by a tracked vehicle and has a snow chamber which can be varied in size and dimension. The tiller is also equipped with a cutting drum which works the snow for a longer period of time when the snow chamber is enlarged. By varying the angle of the trailing bar mounted on a flexible membrane, which forms the outer bounds of the snow chamber, more or less snow is retained in the chamber depending upon snow conditions.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1990Date of Patent: November 26, 1991Assignee: Bombardier Inc.Inventor: Michel Pelletier
