  • Patent number: 6379173
Abstract: A connector (1) which has a release (28) for releasing an elastic hooked tab (11) which allows to keep a complementary connector (23) connected with said connector. The release of said connector particularly includes a lateral blade (30) disposed in a slit (14) extending between the main body (6, 7, 9) of the connector and the hooked tab of said connector, in such a manner that it can selectively draw or not the hooked tab away from the connector thereby releasing or not the elastic lock of the connector.

  • Patent number: 6225557
Abstract: A connector casing which is a plastic molding and includes a connection face (1) in which a connection block (2) for coaxial cables (3) is located and an exit face (4) for the coaxial cables (3), which is perpendicular to the connection block (2), so that the cables describe a curved path between the connection block (2) and the exit face (4) for the cables. The casing contains a cable guide (5, 6) for each cable (3), said cable guide being molded into the casing and extending with a predetermined radius of curvature in order to avoid any variation in the impedance of the cable (3).

  • Patent number: 5816855
Abstract: The invention concerns a plug-in holding and contact element of an electrical connector or a solderless electrical contact terminal piece, particularly for coupling a connection element onto a printed circuit. Plug-in holding element (1) comprises a pin furnished with a slot over a portion of the shaft constituting this pin, the slot defining branches (2, 3) of arched longitudinal shape and solid section. The invention also concerns a connector equipped with such an element.

  • Patent number: 5613879
Abstract: The present invention has for a subject a coupling connector of the type having a front insulating block (3); elbow electrical contact elements (5) having front contact regions (50) lodged in openings made in the front insulating block, as well as regions forming elbows and rear contact terminations (55); a rear insulating block (2), rear insulating block (2) having a central regions (20) and two lateral branches (21, 22); and a front box (4) for shielding and connection with a connector or complementary plug unit. According to the invention, tabs (42, 43) or similar components are provided, arranged peripherally on front box (4) and anchoring groves made peripherally on rear (2) and front (3) insulating blocks, so as to join them with front box (4), by a crimping operation.

  • Patent number: 5444910
Abstract: Process for assembly of a connector incorporating an insulator (1) comprising a front part (2) in which working portions (30) of a plurality of contact elements (30, 33, 34) are inserted, these contact elements comprising bent rear portions (32), and distal ends (33) fitted into slots (21) in a rear wing (20) of the insulator (1). The process comprises immobilizing the distal ends (33) by thermoforming in their respective slots (21) without addition of material. The connector thus produced incorporates folds of material (40) solidly attached to the edges (23) of the corresponding slots (21), thereby allowing immobilization and precise position-retention of the contacts (30).

  • Patent number: 5252080
Abstract: A press-fit connector has an insulative body carrying a series of right-angle pins one branch of which can be force-fitted into a through-plated hole in a printed circuit. The insulative body comprises an angle-bracket having a mounting flange whose outside surface is adapted to bear against the board and a pressure block with bearing surfaces adapted to bear against the pins in order to apply to them a force which forces them into the through-plated holes and other bearing surfaces adapted to bear against the mounting flange. The geometry of the assembly is such that when the first bearing surfaces bear without external loading on the pins there remains a clearance between the second bearing surfaces and the mounting flange which is greater than the permanent deformation of the pins and the insulative body after the pins are forced in and the external loading is removed, so that the angle-bracket is held perfectly against the board.

  • Patent number: 4458970
Abstract: An electrical contact comprises first and second interconnectable portions (41 and 42), said first portion (41) including a tab (2) for connection to an electrical conductor by relative movement of said tab and said conductor along a first axis (3). A pin (6) is rigidly fixed to said tab and extends along a second axis (7) parallel to said first axis and offset therefrom by a first predetermined offset (.alpha.). Said second contact portion (42) comprises a head (8) suitable for receiving said first portion in a plurality of positions relative a third axis (14). Said third axis constitutes a middle axis of said second contact portion, and said first portion is receivable at a plurality of distances up to a second predetermined offset on either side of said third axis. Said first and second predetermined offsets are substantially equal, and said head has a connector member (15) extending therefrom along a fourth axis which is substantially the same as said third axis.
