  • Patent number: 4728952
Abstract: A radar echo discriminating device for separating in the video signal of a pulse-type meteorological radar the rain echoes from the echoes due to the ground comprises fluctuation calculating means for subtracting the amplitude of the incident video signal corresponding to a given pulse emitted by the radar from the amplitude of a stored video signal corresponding to a pulse previously emitted by the radar, whereby the signal obtained after this processing represents only the rain echoes, whereas the ground echoes are attenuated.
