  • Patent number: 9351069
Abstract: An example system may include a first mixer module configured to receive a latency-tolerant audio signal, buffer the latency-tolerant audio signal for a first duration, and process the latency-tolerant audio signal. The system may also include a second mixer module configured to receive the processed latency-tolerant audio signal from the first mixer module. The second mixer may also be configured to receive a latency-sensitive audio signal, where the latency-sensitive audio signal is shorter in duration than the latency-tolerant audio signal, and where the latency-sensitive audio signal corresponds to a user input. The second mixer may also be configured to buffer the latency-sensitive audio signal for a second duration, where the second duration is shorter than the first duration. The second mixer may also be configured to process the latency-sensitive audio signal, and combine the processed latency-tolerant audio signal and the processed latency-sensitive audio signal to create a combined signal.

  • Patent number: 6837085
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for transverse ultrasound peening of blades (2) on a rotor which consists in driving in rotation the wheel (3) bearing the blades (2) about its geometrical axis (6) arranged substantially vertically and in causing the blades (2) to pass through a mist of microbeads produced by a vibrating surface (20) in an active chamber (12) arranged laterally relative to the wheel. The active surface (20) is located beneath the path of the blades (2). Preferably, the active chamber (12) comprises a second vibrating surface above the path of the blades (2). The invention also concerns a machine for implementing said method.

  • Publication number: 20040244195
Abstract: A method for making a blade ring includes producing an outer shell of a blade ring by setting a blank using a plasma-forming process on a frame that is then removed. The tips of the blades are well embedded in the ferrule independently of their profile, such that the aerodynamic performances do not deteriorate.

  • Patent number: 6336844
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and machine for so-called “ultrasonic” peening employing a mist of microbeads inside an active chamber 30c for peening parts 21 on a wheel 19, ie blades on a rotator. The periphery of the wheel 19 is brought simultaneously past the openings of at least three chambers with limited clearances E1 and E2. At least one chamber being active with a peening mist of microbeads and at least two chambers, either side of the active chamber, being passive. The wheel being rotated over the chambers and the microbeads are removed from the passive chambers and in that the active chambers are supplied with microbeads therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6289705
Abstract: A method of so-called “ultrasonic” peening is described for peening large sized annular surfaces on thin parts. The method uses a microbead mist vibrated in a chamber with an opening so that the surface that is to be peened makes at least five movements past the opening of the peening chamber during peening so as to reduce deformation of the part.

  • Patent number: 6132857
Abstract: A high-strength hybrid component including a relatively soft first part made of a composite material including an organic matrix reinforced with fibers, a relatively hard second part made of metal, metal alloy, or ceramic, and a transition layer made of a composite material including a matrix of a material that is weldable to the hard part and fibers that are extensions of the fibers of the soft part. The transition layer matrix and the hard part may be formed by deposition of molten material on to the fiber preform of the soft part using flame, electric arc, or plasma. The resin matrix of the soft part is impregnated into the preform and polymerized afterwards. Alternatively, the hard part may be machined to shape and welded to the transition layer before completing the soft part.

  • Patent number: 4637916
Abstract: A sterilization method comprising subjecting a sterilization chamber to an initial vacuum and then introducing steam to increase chamber pressure. The introduction of steam is interrupted and the chamber is brought into communication with a solution in a gaseous sterilant generator. The mixture of gaseous sterilant and chamber atmosphere are continuously circulated whereby equilibrium is established and the material to be sterilized is subject to constant temperature, pressure, sterilant concentration, and relative humidity for a period of time sufficient for sterilization. Also disclosed is an apparatus capable of performing the sterilization method comprising a sterilization chamber in combination with a gaseous sterilant generator. Formaldehyde is the preferred sterilizing agent.
