  • Publication number: 20230090412
Abstract: A method of determining an integer ambiguity search space includes: obtaining, at an apparatus, a code phase measurement of a satellite vehicle signal comprising a pseudorandom noise code and a carrier signal; obtaining, at the apparatus, spatial information corresponding to a wireless terrestrial signal transferred between the apparatus and a terrestrial base station; determining, at the apparatus, a satellite positioning system carrier phase integer ambiguity search space based on the code phase measurement; and constraining a size of the satellite positioning system carrier phase integer ambiguity search space based on the spatial information.

  • Publication number: 20220373696
Abstract: Techniques for Ultra Wide-Lane (UWL) Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning a mobile device may include obtaining, using a multi-band GNSS receiver of the mobile device: a first carrier-phase measurement of a first GNSS signal on a first GNSS carrier frequency, and a second carrier-phase measurement of a second GNSS signal on second GNSS carrier frequency. Techniques may further comprise providing a position estimate of the mobile device, wherein: the position estimate is determined from a wide-lane (WL) combination of the first carrier-phase measurement and the second carrier-phase measurement, and the WL combination has a combined carrier phase noise that is less than a pseudo-range noise of the first carrier-phase measurement and a pseudo-range noise of the second carrier-phase measurement.

  • Patent number: 7769538
Abstract: The position of an object moving along a course is determined by a relative measured position while its associated second confidence interval is smaller than a first confidence interval associated with an absolute measured position and is determined by the absolute position when the second confidence interval exceeds the first confidence interval.

  • Publication number: 20070212729
Abstract: Provided are methods for predicting survival outcome of an individual suffering from congestive heart failure. In accordance with the method, a patient's survival outcome is determined by taking into consideration the levels of two markers in combination, the combination being more predictive of survival than either marker alone. The markers include endothelin, atrial natriuretic peptide and brain natriuretic peptide, their precursors and fragments thereof. Individuals with congestive heart failure identified as having increased risk of mortality using the methods of the invention are appropriately targeted for more aggressive therapy.

  • Publication number: 20070203640
Abstract: A method is provided for determining the location and/or the positioning of an object, in particular a vehicle such as a train, moving along a known course, including the following steps: determining an absolute position of the object with a first confidence interval, determining a relative position of the object with a second confidence interval, selecting the smaller confidence interval among the first and the second confidence interval, determining said location and/or positioning of the object by means of the position corresponding to said smaller confidence interval.

  • Patent number: 7106717
Abstract: Apparatus, and an associated method, for facilitating implementation of a location service in a radio communication system. When a location service is initiated, a network-based entity is alerted to the service initiation. The network-based entity generates a message to inquire of network-based information that facilitates the location determination of the mobile station pursuant to the location service. When the information is obtained, the information is forwarded to the mobile station. The information is used at the mobile station to facilitate the effectuation of the location service.

  • Publication number: 20050066044
Abstract: An Internet protocol (IP) based location system that employs a global positioning system (GPS) component in connection with a position determining entity (PDE) component to determine location of target mobile station(s) via the Internet. As such the system provides an internet protocol based scheme (e.g., UDP) to initiate a location determination session within a CDMA network. The system can provide a location determining service even when the mobile station(s) are not within a home network (e.g., roaming situations). The system can also employ HTTP over TCP/IP so as to facilitate communications between the mobile station(s) and a mobile positioning center (MPC) (e.g., authentication and/or security protocols/schemes). Furthermore, the system can identify a PDE of a plurality of available PDEs that is most suitable for a given state of the mobile station and/or state of the user and/or particular location based application being employed by the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 4595988
Abstract: A plurality of single-phase energy sensors each having a first input connected to a current converter and a second input connected to voltage converter supply pulses to a calculating device. The number of pulses over time represents the energy detected by the single-phase sensor. The calculating device is based on a microprocessor and comprises accumulators controlled by the pulses delivered by the energy sensors for supplying the active and reactive power measurements sought. In the case of a four-wire network, it is not necessary to use voltage transformers for the interphase network voltages, and the energy sensors supply pulses which represent the active and reactive energy of each phase.
