  • Patent number: 9534893
Abstract: An imaging device intended to be placed on board a satellite or an aircraft comprises at least two detector arrays that are arranged in the same focal plane. Each detector array itself comprises a unidirectional detector and at least one additional detector, produced on one same single-piece substrate dedicated to said detector array. The arrangement of the detectors in the focal plane is then carried out in a modular fashion, by positioning the respective substrates of the detector arrays. Several arrangements are proposed that are compatible with the unidirectional and bidirectional push-broom scanning modes.

  • Publication number: 20130258106
Abstract: A method of using an image sensor onboard a satellite or an aircraft comprises two simultaneous sequences of image capture. The first sequence corresponds to a capture of observation images, and the second sequence corresponds to a capture of images dedicated to the detection of a shifting of the observation images. The images dedicated to the detection of the shifting are restricted to windows that are at least in part contained in a main window the of observation images. Furthermore, said images dedicated to the detection of shifting are captured at a frequency greater than a frequency of the observation images.

  • Patent number: 6381007
Abstract: The photosensitive device implements charge coupling and accumulation for analyzing a light signal. A sensor has an image zone M rows and N columns of photosensitive sites for receiving a light signal during successive acquisition periods, a transfer zone of P rows and N columns of non-photosensitive sites for receiving, in each site of a first row, the sum of the charges in a respective column of the image zone at the end of each successive sampling period. It also has a storage zone of P rows an N columns in which each column is adjacent to a respective column of the transfer zone and each site is arranged to receive charges contained in an adjacent site of the transfer zone and to accumulate it. The sensor is clocked for a sequence.

  • Patent number: 6084659
Abstract: The CCD device is suitable for use in a lidar. It has an image zone constituted by a matrix of M lines and N columns of photosensitive sites for receiving a light signal and generating charges, a first memory zone constituted by a matrix of P lines and N columns of non-photosensitive sites, a read-out register having a single line of N sites, and a second memory zone having P lines of N sites, apt to receive in parallel charges contained in the N sites of the read-out register. The first memory zone has a first line of sites apt to receive and to sum charges generated in a respective column of the image zone at the end of each of successive acquisition periods. The second memory zone stores and transfers charges to N sites of a same line of the image zone or the first memory zone whereby accumulating, in each line of the first memory zone, charges accumulated during an observation period and resulting from a plurality of successive summations.

  • Patent number: 5585633
Abstract: The terrestrial sensor device is suitable for use on a satellite or spacecraft. It has a lens for forming an image of the Earth in a focal plane, and a sensor placed in the focal plane. The sensor is constituted by a two-dimensional array of pyroelectric detectors. The device also includes an actuator for oscillating the array in the focal plane, orthogonally to the optical axis of the image-formation lens, at a determined frequency and with an amplitude at least equal to the distribution spacing of the detectors and a processing circuit for acquisition of the output signals of the detectors at the oscillation frequency and for comparison of the output signals with a threshold.

  • Patent number: 5302816
Abstract: The device for determining the relative attitude and range of a chaser vehicle and of a target vehicle comprises, on the chaser, a camera for forming the image of a field of view of determined angular extent and, on the target, a set of several markers. The spacing between the markers is such that they are at least partially outside the angular field of view of the camera carried by the chaser when the range between the chaser and the target is less than a determined value, and the target (11) carries reflector means (16) which remain entirely within the field of view, even at ranges less than said value, and which provide images of the markers (14) in the field of the camera.
