  • Publication number: 20060172576
Abstract: A connector assembly (10) is provided including a first connector (12) and a second connector (14) configured to mateably engage the first connector (12). The first connector (12) includes a housing (16), a conductor assembly (18) positioned within the housing and projecting from housing, and a resilient seal member (30) enclosing an interface between the housing (16) and the portion of the conductor assembly projecting from the housing. The second connector (14) includes an outer contact (60), an inner contact (62) nested within a portion of the outer contact (60), and a housing (64) containing the inner and outer contacts. Conductors of the conductor assembly (18) of the first connector (12) engage the outer (60) and inner (62) contacts of the second connector (14). Another resilient seal member (45) includes a flexible skirt (50) formed at an end portion thereof.

  • Publication number: 20050087067
Abstract: A vacuum booster 10 and method utilize a power piston apparatus 14 including a booster power piston 24, a secondary diaphragm support 26, a diaphragm support seal 28, and a primary diaphragm support 30 having an integral locking collar 32 for engaging an annular groove 34 in an outer surface 36 of the power piston 34 and clamping radially inner edges of the primary and secondary diaphragm supports 30, 26, with the diaphragm support seal 28 therebetween, in the annular groove 34 of the power piston 24. Rolling diaphragms 42, 64 are attached between outer peripheral edges 40, 62 of the primary and secondary diaphragm supports 30, 26 and a housing 12 of the booster 10.

  • Publication number: 20050074353
Abstract: A vacuum booster and method utilize a power piston apparatus including a power piston operatively mounted within a booster housing for movement along a longitudinal axis of the booster, and having a sliding seal fixedly attached thereto for slidingly engaging a sealing surface of an annular wall of the booster housing and axially dividing the closed booster cavity into a high pressure cavity and a low pressure cavity. The sliding seal is mounted on an outer periphery of a seal support flange extending radially outward from the power piston. A convoluted divider provides an air passage connecting primary and secondary high pressure cavities in the booster, without the use of air tubes.

  • Publication number: 20050039597
Abstract: A vacuum booster and method includes a modular valve assembly having components held together by a snap connection. The modular valve assembly, includes an air valve adapted for receiving a push rod, a floating control valve (FCV), an air valve spring, a floating control valve (FCV) spring, an FCV support, and a spring seat. The spring seat is operatively attached by a snap connection to the air valve, and retains the FCV, air valve spring, FCV support, and FCV spring between the spring seat and the air valve. A second snap connection is utilized for attaching a push rod after the modular valve assembly is installed into a booster. The push rod may be installed after the otherwise fully assembled booster, including the modular valve assembly, has been tested.
