Publication number: 20230249969Abstract: The technology relates to a method of producing synthesis gas comprising carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen (H2), wherein the synthesis gas is produced by a reduction reaction of a first flow comprising a carbon source and an excess of hydrogen in contact with an Oxy-flame. The hydrogen comes from a reducing stream, a first portion of which ends up in the first flow, and a second part of which is used to generate the Oxy-flame by combustion of the hydrogen in the presence of a second flow comprising oxygen (O2), the second flow coming from an oxidizing stream. The first flow and the second flow are at a distance from each other such that the Oxy-flame supports the reaction between the carbon source and the hydrogen. A reactor, which can have different configurations, is also proposed for implementing the method.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 3, 2021Publication date: August 10, 2023Inventors: Raynald LABRECQUE, Robert SCHULZ, Michel VIENNEAU, Germain LAROCQUE

Patent number: 8829897Abstract: A paper position sensor for a ticket printer is disclosed. The ticket printer includes a blank ticket tray and a paper guide consisting of an upper and lower guide, which lower guide contains a position sensor wheel that rotates as a result of the frictional contact with the blank ticket, as the ticket passes over the sensor wheel on its way through the guides. The wheel contains an embedded magnetic element such that as the wheel turns, which magnetically provides rotational position information to an adjacently-mounted sensor chip, which is able to determine, magnetically, the position of the wheel. The sensor chip provides data to the printer control as to the position of the ticket through the printer, and thus the printer control is now able to determine the precise position of the ticket in the printer.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2011Date of Patent: September 9, 2014Assignee: Nanoptix Inc.Inventors: Michel Vienneau, Paul Butland, Yvon Hache, Sylvio LeBlanc, Denis Daigle

Publication number: 20110223988Abstract: A controller board and system for converting a cash-based game machine to a cashless, wireless system employing wireless network connectivity is disclosed. The controller board consists of a circuit board, one or more emulation circuits, a serial interface, one or more switches and a microcontroller. The controller system consists of the controller board with the serial interface connected to a display and a card reader, and a wireless communication interface for communicating with the accounts server. Said one or more emulation circuits emulate the signals of cash-based peripherals on the game machine, once the peripheral cables are reconnected from the peripheral into the emulation circuit. The user's account is identified through the card reader and the user's account is debited or credited as a result of losing or winning gameplay by the microcontroller. Changes to the account balance are encrypted and sent to a casino server by means of the wireless interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2010Publication date: September 15, 2011Applicant: NANOPTIX INC.Inventors: Michel Vienneau, Yvon HACHE

Publication number: 20080311978Abstract: A cashless method for operating a network of gaming machines from a central host station is provided. The host station issues a unique token with a unique player validation number. The attendant of the host station enters the amount given by the player into host station. The player activates a gaming machine from a system of gaming machines through the use of the gaming token. Upon activating gaming machine, credits from host machine are transferred to gaming machine. Once play has terminated on the gaming machine, the player may cashout any remaining credits or may simply activate another gaming machine through the use of the token.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 2, 2008Publication date: December 18, 2008Applicant: NANOPTIX INC.Inventor: Michel Vienneau

Publication number: 20060072953Abstract: The ticket presenter is mountable to a printer having a tear bar therein, for receiving a printed ticket, for pulling on that ticket in a controlled manner, for severing the ticket against the tear bar of the printer and for presenting the ticket to a customer. A paper inlet switch mounted inside the ticket presenter has a lever extending in the inlet path of the ticket presenter for monitoring the extent of a loop formed in the strip of ticket paper in the inlet path. A tension roller system is mounted on a downstream side of the paper inlet switch, and pulls on the strip of ticket paper with a speed that is controlled by the position of the lever of the paper inlet switch in the inlet path. The speed and functions of the ticket presenter are thereby synchronized to the speed and functions of the ticket printer.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2004Publication date: April 6, 2006Inventors: Daniel Vienneau, Rick Saulnier, Pierre Doucet, Michel Vienneau, Paul Chiasson, Aurele Comeau, Martin Gaudet, Aurele Comeau
