  • Patent number: 10170829
Abstract: An antenna array including a radiating structure formed from an array of radiating elements forming self-complementary patterns, the radiating surface separated from a ground plane by a dielectric layer, the antenna comprises an array of metallized vias passing through the dielectric layer between the radiating surface and the ground plane, each via being positioned facing a given point, referred to as the particular point, of a radiating element. The particular points may be located between two consecutive electrical supply points of a radiating element.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 26, 2015
Date of Patent: January 1, 2019
    Assignee: THALES

  • Patent number: 9831566
Abstract: An antenna comprises a plurality of tiles forming an antenna plane, each of said tiles comprising a plurality of radiating elements. Each radiating element comprises a metallic upper patch disposed above a metallic lower patch, the two patches being separated by a layer insulating them electrically. The lower patch is fed with electric current. Each radiating element comprises a conducting frame disposed parallel to the antenna plane and framing the two patches of said element, the two so-called patches being coupled electromagnetically through the aperture of said frame whose body comprises a rear face of small cross section disposed on the side of the lower patch and a front face of larger cross section disposed on the side of the upper patch, so as to widen the angular scan field of a beam in a plane orthogonal to the antenna plane.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 28, 2017
    Assignee: THALES

  • Patent number: 5936484
Abstract: A UHF phase shifter including a UHF waveguide having an electrooptical element lying between two elements 3 and 4 made of materials which have permittivity higher than that of the electrooptical element. An electric polarization field is applied for controlling the electrooptical element and a UHF line is inserted into the element. The control of the orientation of the molecules of the electrooptical element allows for a variation of the index of the element as seen by the field of a UHF wave.

  • Patent number: 5557090
Abstract: A bank or identity type of magnetic card contains ferromagnetic elements that selectively absorb waves at microwave frequencies. The disclosure also relates to a reading device adapted to this card. The device has an active system and a resonant system capable of filtering the microwaves at the resonance frequencies of the ferromagnetic materials of the card to be read. The reading device, equipped with a system to measure the amplitude of the microwaves, can thus recognize the magnetic information elements on the card, through the disturbance or non-disturbance of the microwaves during the insertion of the card into the device. The value of the encoding of the card lies in fact that the information elements are hard to destroy.
