Data-in-transit comprising sensitive data is received. A tokenization service of the node generates a token for the sensitive data using the mapping structure.

Further, the method includes deriving, by the data publisher, a symmetric access key based on the publisher key and at least one attribute of a subset of the data and encrypting the subset with the symmetric access key. The method further comprises deriving, by the data owner, the symmetric access key based on the owner key and the attribute, and providing the symmetric access key to the user to enable the user to decrypt using the symmetric access key the subset encrypted by the data publisher.

The method also comprises encrypting second data with at least one second attribute of the second data. The method further provides for generating a second cryptographic key based on a second access policy including at least one logical connective of the first attribute and the second attribute for decrypting the encrypted first data and the encrypted second data using the second cryptographic key and providing the second cryptographic key to one or more second users to enable the second users to decrypt the encrypted first data and the encrypted second data.

In particular, embodiments provide a method for electronic election, the method comprising generating, by a trusted execution environment (TEE), a symmetric key for at least one user and based on a seed. Also, the method comprises providing, by the TEE, the symmetric key to a first data processing circuit of the user for encrypting the user's vote with the symmetric key and entering the encrypted vote in a distributed ledger database. Further, the method comprises providing, by the TEE, the seed to at least one second data processing circuit and obtaining, by the second data processing circuit, the user's vote from the distributed ledger database using the seed.

Each ephemeral token of the plurality of ephemeral tokens has a usable life defined by the epoch. Each sensitive data instance in the set of sensitive data is associated with a particular ephemeral token of the plurality of ephemeral tokens to create a mapping structure in a main memory of the node. A tokenization service of the node is configured to process tokenization requests using the mapping structure.
