  • Patent number: 6578235
Abstract: A handle assembly, particularly adapted for a sectional door panel includes identical handle parts each having a grip portion and spaced apart transversely extending legs. One of the legs of each handle part has an elongated shank extending therefrom and the other leg of each handle part has a shorter shank or a shank receiving bore formed therein. The handle parts are assembled to each other from opposite sides of a door panel and secured by conventional threaded fasteners which extend through a bore in one leg of each handle part and engage a shank of the other handle part. Tubular spacers may be sleeved over the shanks of the handle parts to limit the spacing between the handle parts during assembly to the door panel.

  • Patent number: 6408926
Abstract: Sectional garage door panels are provided with elongated reinforcing beams secured to the inside surface of the panels by supporting a beam on a panel with spaced apart support brackets secured to the panel and securing the beam to the panels at spaced apart points thereon with mechanical fasteners. The beams are preferably channel shaped and the support brackets each include a beam locating projection for accurately locating the beams on a panel and in engagement with panel reinforcing stiles to facilitate quickly securing the beams to the panel with mechanical fasteners. The panels are erected in a doorway and supported by opposed guide tracks prior to installing the beams on the panel to facilitate handling the panels and the beams during shipment and prior to installation.

  • Patent number: 5781680
Abstract: The present invention provides an adapter for sealingly receiving ferrules of standard optical fiber connectors such that the end faces of the ferrules are protected from moisture when inserted into the adapter. The adapter has a sealing sleeve that defines a sealing surface at each end to circumferentially seal about a ferrule. An alignment sleeve that is sized for operatively aligning the end faces of the ferrules is disposed coaxially inside the sealing sleeve. A retainer retains the sealing sleeve and allows for mounting of connectors thereto.

  • Patent number: 5640476
Abstract: A guide sleeve is provided for guiding a portion of a fiber optic cable through a turn and insuring that the turn radius of such portion of the cable does not decrease below the minimum bend radius of the cable. The guide comprises a curved sleeve that has a radius of curvature not less than the minimum bend radius of the fiber optic cable. The sleeve has an interior surface that defines a passageway, and the sleeve defines a slot that communicates with the passageway and extends the entire length of the sleeve such that the sleeve has an open cross-section along the entire length of the sleeve. The slot is configured to allow insertion of a length of a cable through the slot and into the passageway. The slot allows the guide to be removably installed on a cable that already has connectors and boots installed on each end of the cable without affecting the integrity of the connector/boot connection.
