  • Patent number: 8020882
Abstract: A trailing arm for a rear independent suspension of a motor vehicle. The arm (10) includes a beam-like mounting structure (32) and a plurality of components including a first component (38, 40) for the mounting of a first bush (20) for articulated connection of the trailing arm (10) to the vehicle structure, a second component (42) for support of a wheel-carrying spindle; a third component (50, 56) for the mounting of a second bush (22) for articulated connection of the trailing arm (10) to a first rod (12), a fourth component (58) for the mounting of a third bush (24) for articulated connection of the trailing arm (10) to a second rod (12), a fifth component (28) for support of a spring, a sixth component (64) for connection of the trailing arm (10) to a shock absorber (16), and a seventh component (66) for connection of the trailing arm (10) to a torsion bar (18).

  • Publication number: 20090315291
Abstract: The trailing arm (10) comprises a beam-like mounting structure (32) and a plurality of components separate from each other and securely connected, directly or indirectly, to the mounting structure (32) to perform each a specific function, namely a first component (38, 40) for the mounting of a first bush (20) for articulated connection of the trailing arm (10) to the vehicle structure, a second component (42) for support of a wheel-carrying spindle; a third component (50, 56) for the mounting of a second bush (22) for articulated connection of the trailing arm (10) to a first rod (12), a fourth component (58) for the mounting of a third bush (24) for articulated connection of the trailing arm (10) to a second rod (12), a fifth component (28) for support of a spring, a sixth component (64) for connection of the trailing arm (10) to a shock absorber (16), and a seventh component (66) for connection of the trailing arm (10) to a torsion bar (18).

  • Publication number: 20040135337
Abstract: The member (2), particularly adapted for an arm (1) of which a motor vehicle suspension, has a box-like structure which comprises a pair of shaped portions (3, 4) disposed facing each other. Said portions are obtained from a pair of integral plate portions (3′, 4′) of a semi-finished product (2′) in the form of a shaped, essentially flat element, produced starting from a plastically deformable material in sheet form, by folding over the shaped element (2′) along at least one predetermined line (16, 17), so as to dispose the plate portions (3′, 4′) facing each other.

  • Patent number: 6152467
Abstract: There is described a motor vehicle rear suspension comprising, for each wheel, a longitudinal arm carrying the wheel and pivotally mounted onto the fixed structure of the motor vehicle around a transverse axis. The arm includes a torsionally deformable blade arranged substantially in a longitudinal vertical plane and an auxiliary arm connected to the fixed structure of the motor vehicle with the interposition of an articulated rod element and is further connected to the fixed structure of the motor vehicle by means of a transverse rod.

  • Patent number: 5992866
Abstract: There is described a motor-vehicle rear suspension comprising a longitudinal arm whose rear end carries the wheel support and whose front end is connected to the motor-vehicle body by a connecting rod, this front end being also connected to an auxiliary arm which is on its turn connected to the motor-vehicle body by means of a connecting-rod. The wheel support is further connected to the motor-vehicle body by means of a transverse linking rod. The longitudinal arm has an intermediate swivel joint and a further articulated arm is provided which connects the wheel support to the motor-vehicle body.
