  • Patent number: 11912851
Abstract: A compounded polymer composition suitable for manufacturing of isotropic three-dimensional printed articles may include an impact copolymer, a low crystalline ethylene/?-olefin copolymer; a nucleating agent; and filler, where the impact copolymer may include a matrix phase comprising a propylene-based polymer or copolymer; and a dispersed phase in the matrix phase, the dispersed phase comprising an ethylene-based copolymer, the ethylene-based copolymer having a C3-C12 comonomer, wherein the dispersed phase has a different composition than the matrix phase.

  • Publication number: 20230142166
Abstract: The invention relates to an additive-manufacture feedstock, comprising an ethylene polymer blend composition having an ethylene polymer having a melt flow index of from 0.1 to 150 g/10 min (190° C./2.16 kg), measured according to ASTM D 1238, and at least one of the following components blended in the ethylene polymer: a polyolefin elastomer, an ethylene-vinyl ester polymer, a fiber, a nucleator or clarifier, or a polypropylene polymer. The additive-manufacture feedstock, when in the form of a printed article, exhibits an improved printability characterized by an improved warpage-resistance rating. The invention also relates to methods of making the additive-manufacture feedstock and methods of 3D printing or additive manufacturing using the additive-manufacture feedstock in various forms.

  • Publication number: 20230038023
Abstract: The invention relates to a sinterable polymer composition, comprising: a random copolymer of propylene and an olefinic comonomer, containing about 2 to 10 wt % olefinic comonomer content, relative to 100 wt % of the random copolymer. The sinterable polymer composition may also contain at least one of a clarifier and a nucleator, and/or at least one additive selected from the group consisting of a primary antioxidant, a secondary antioxidant, an acid scavenger, a peroxide, an enhanced IR energy absorber, a long-term heat agent, and a polyolefin elastomer. The sinterable polymer composition has a melt flow rate from about 1 to 150 g/10 min (230° C./2.16 kg), measured according to ASTM D 1238; a crystallization temperature, Tc, from about 105 to 150° C.; and a xylene solubles content, XS, from about 3% to 40%.

  • Publication number: 20210053276
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an article using an additive manufacturing technique may include melting a polymer composition; activating the polymer composition with one or more activating agents; and depositing the molten polymer composition to manufacture the article. An article may include a plurality of printed layers of a polyolefin composition, wherein the polyolefin composition is prepared from the deposition of an activated polyolefin composition, wherein the polyolefin composition is activated by one or more activating agents.
