In the image processing apparatus, the first communication portion performs first wireless communication being proximity-type wireless communication. The second communication portion performs second wireless communication whose communicable distance is longer than that of the first wireless communication and whose communication speed is faster than that of the first wireless communication. After the first communication portion automatically establishes communication connection between the first communication portion and a transmission source of the signal through the first wireless communication, the first communication portion hands over the communication connection to second wireless communication.
