  • Publication number: 20210085007
Abstract: A wound recovery garment includes a multilayer fabric. The multilayer fabric comprises a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer. The multilayer fabric draws moisture from the skin tissues, including wounded or burned tissue recovering from trauma. The first layer removes moisture from wounded tissue without sticking to skin. The first layer is formed from compressive, elastic material that supplies compression forces to tissue. The second layer is an absorbent layer that receives the moisture from the first layer and stores tissue moisture in a sponge-like fashion. The second layer is disposed between the first layer and the third layer. The third layer is an exterior layer and is visible to outside viewers. No body fluid or blood leaks through the third layer. Individuals recovering from trauma are able to comfortably go outside without being concerned with body fluids soaking through and being visible to others.

  • Publication number: 20210092059
Abstract: Disclosed are examples of systems, apparatus, devices, computer program products, and methods implementing aspects of a decentralized content fabric. In some implementations, one or more processors are configured to execute a software stack to define a fabric node of a plurality of fabric nodes of an overlay network situated in an application layer differentiated from an internet protocol layer. The defined fabric node is configured to: obtain a request for digital content from a client device; obtain, from one or more of the plurality of fabric nodes, a plurality of content object parts of a content object representing, in the overlay network, at least a portion of the digital content; generate consumable media using: raw data stored in the content object parts, metadata stored in the content object parts, and build instructions stored in the content object parts; and provide the consumable media to the client device.

  • Publication number: 20210085202
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for automatically calibrating a reference orientation of an implantable medical device (IMD) within a patient. In one example, sensors of an IMD sense a plurality of orientation vectors of the IMD with respect to a gravitational field. Processing circuitry of the IMD processes the plurality of orientation vectors to identify an upright vector that corresponds to an upright posture of the patient. The processing circuitry classifies the plurality of orientation vectors with respect to the upright vector to define a sagittal plane of the patient and a transverse plane of the patient. The processing circuitry determines, based on the upright vector, the sagittal plane, and the transverse plane, a reference orientation of the IMD within the patient. As the orientation of the IMD within the patient changes over time, the processing circuitry may recalibrate its reference orientation and accurately detect a posture of the patient.

  • Patent number: 10959019
Abstract: A method and system directed to controlling Active Noise Reduction (ANR) audio devices with active noise reduction. The system generates one or more control signals, using a controller, to set one or more ANR parameters of a first and a second wearable audio device to a first ANR state; detects at least one of: whether the first wearable audio device is engaged with or removed from a first ear of a user, using a first sensor of the first wearable audio device; or whether a second wearable audio device is engaged with or removed form a second ear of a user, using a second sensor of the second wearable audio device; and automatically adjusts the one or more ANR parameters of the first and/or second wearable audio device to a second ANR state when either the first wearable audio device or the second wearable audio device, or both, are removed from an ear of the user, wherein the second ANR state comprises a reduction in a level of ANR at least at some frequencies compared to the first ANR state.

  • Patent number: 10958069
Abstract: A multi-energy storage device system includes an electric drive coupled to a load, a DC link coupled to the electric drive, and a bi-directional voltage converter having an output channel coupled to the DC link and an input channel. A first energy storage device (ESD) is coupled to the input channel, and a switch is coupled to the DC link and to a second ESD. A system controller causes the switch to couple the second ESD to the DC link for delivering energy stored in the second ESD to the electric drive. The system controller also causes the voltage converter to convert a voltage of the first ESD to a higher voltage and to deliver the higher voltage to the DC link, wherein the higher voltage is greater than the voltage of the second ESD and causes the switch to decouple the second ESD from the DC link.

  • Publication number: 20210082039
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying and reducing the risk of adverse balance diminishment through the analysis of characteristics of customers associated with past incidences of adverse balance diminishment are described. By processing information relating to the behavior and characteristics of customers whose balances at a financial institution have previously exhibited adverse balance diminishment, a meaningful predictive model of adverse balance diminishment can be constructed. The predictive model can then be used to identify opportunities for a financial institution to take preventative measures to reduce the risk of adverse balance diminishment among its customers.

  • Publication number: 20210077313
Abstract: A sensor for monitoring wetness in a diaper or other absorbent article includes a housing that attaches to the absorbent article. The sensor may include inner and outer housing portions that capture an edge of the absorbent article between the housings. The sensor may include contacts that electrically connect with a pair of contact strips embedded in the absorbent article. The distance between the embedded strips may vary depending on the size of the absorbent article. The sensor may include multiple pairs of contacts that are spaced apart to match the distance between the contact strips for the variously sized absorbent articles. In this way, depending on the pair of contacts connected to the contact strips, the sensor may indicate the size of the absorbent article. The sensor may have a housing with a cavity and a lid that closes the cavity. The lid may be secured with a latch.
