Abstract: A fin box is provided for detachably attaching a fin to a surfboard. The surfboard has a nose and a tail at opposite ends. The fin has a groove base with one or more pins. The fin box includes one or more inner walls. The inner walls have (i) a hollow base with a width that is at least as great as a width of the groove base and a length that is at least as great as a length of the groove base, (ii) one or more recess parts disposed at locations that correspond to the locations of the pins of the fin, the recess parts extending in a direction that is substantially perpendicular to a length of the fin box, and (iii) one or more ditch parts that extend from the recess parts, the ditch parts extending in a direction that is substantially parallel to the length of the fin box and toward the tail of the surfboard.

Abstract: An apparatus for packaging at least one surfboard includes an outer enclosure. The packaging apparatus further includes a plurality of edge frames supported directly or indirectly by the outer enclosure. The edge frames are configured to support the surfboard, directly or indirectly. Optionally, the packaging apparatus may also have a plurality of stabilizers affixed to the outer enclosure, where the plurality of edge frames have at least a first edge frame and a second edge frame, the first edge frame abuts at least two of the plurality of stabilizers, and the second edge frame abuts at least two of the plurality of stabilizers.

Abstract: An elastic member is provided for enhancing retention of a surfboard fin that has been removably inserted in a surfboard. The surfboard fin has one or more receptacles. The elastic member has a capsule that is adapted to fit in one of the receptacles and has an opening, and which. The elastic member includes an elastic biasing member in the housing, and a protruding member that is biased by the elastic biasing member into a position where the protruding member protrudes through the opening.
