Abstract: The present invention provides a dual-layer phase-change information recording medium in which the erase ratio in each layer is superior, the dynamic range is improved, and a multi-level recording is possible. For the dual-layer phase-change information recording medium, the compositions of the first recording layer material and the second recording layer material are expressed as Sb?1Te?1Ge?1M1?1 and Sb?2Te?2Ge?2M2?2, respectively, where M1 and M2 are any one element selected from Ag, In, Se, Sn, Al, Ti, V, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, Bi, Si, Dy, Pd, Pt, Au, S, B, C and P; ?1, ?1, ?1, ?1, ?2, ?2, ?2 and ?2 denote percentages by atom and satisfy the following relations: ?1+?1+?1+?1=?2+?2+?2+?2=100; 50??1?75; 25??1?40; 0<?1?10; 0??1?10; 60??2?85; 15??2?30; 0<?2?10; 0??2?10; and ?2+?2<?1+?1??2+?2+20.
