  • Patent number: 4982716
Abstract: A fuel injection valve includes an injector body having a fuel injection hole and an adapter having a fuel collision surface, two air injection holes and two injected fuel paths. The fuel injected from the fuel injection hole flows in a slug-like pattern and collides with the fuel collision surface where the fuel is atomized a first time. Then, the fuel flows in a direction away from an axis of the adapter in a membrane-like pattern getting thinner in thickness to be finally broken to pieces, that is, to be atomized a second time. The air injected from the air injection holes collides with the membrane-like pattern of fuel to be atomized a third time before the fuel goes out of the injected fuel paths.

  • Patent number: 4781154
Abstract: A two-cycle internal combustion engine having three, or a multiple of three, cylinders comprises a cylinder head having an intake port and exhaust port opened to a combustion chamber, to which fresh air compressed by a supercharger is introduced via an intake valve. The intake and exhaust valves are operated in response to a crank angle. A one-way valve is provided in the intake port so as to prevent air or gas from flowing back toward the supercharger. The exhaust valve is opened earlier than the intake valve when the speed of the downward movement of the piston is relatively high, so that a part of exhaust gas in the exhaust port flows back to the combustion chamber in the condition. In a heavy load condtion, cross scavenging and air charging effects due to exhaust pulsation can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 4732124
Abstract: A two-cycle internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder head having an intake port and exhaust port opened to a combustion chamber, to which compressed fresh air is introduced via an intake valve. The intake and exhaust valves are operated in response to a crank angle. A pulsation pressure of exhaust gas in the exhaust port is substantially restrained during an idling or light load running condition. The exhaust valve is opened earlier than the intake valve when the speed of the downward movement of the piston is relatively high, such that a part of exhaust gas in the exhaust port flows back to the combustion chamber in that condition. An exhaust gas swirl rotating around a cylinder axis is formed when the exhaust gas flows back and the fresh air is slowly introduced onto the exhaust gas swirl in that condition.

  • Patent number: 4732116
Abstract: A two-cycle internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder head having two intake ports and an exhaust port opened to a combustion chamber, to which compresses fresh air is introduced via two intake valves. The intake and exhaust valves are operated in response to a crank angle. During an idling or light load running condition, an air control valve closes the second intake port. The exhaust valve is opened earlier than the second intake valve, and the first intake valve is opened later than the second intake valve, while the speed of the downward movement of the piston is relatively high. An exhaust gas swirl rotating around a cylinder axis is formed when the exhaust gas flows back into the condition chamber and the fresh air is slowly introduced via the first intake valve onto the exhaust gas swirl in the idling or light load condition. A large amount of fuel is rapidly introduced into the combustion chamber via the second intake valve in a heavy load condition.

  • Patent number: 4563994
Abstract: A fuel injection control apparatus which sets an opening timing of a fuel injection valve according to driving conditions of a vehicle and independently injects an amount of fuel into each of engine cylinders. To obtain the pretty mixed mixture of the fuel and air, the fuel injection control apparatus quicken the opening timing of the fuel injection valve according to the engine coolant temperature or the amount of the throttle opening.

  • Patent number: 4541388
Abstract: This invention relates to a fuel injection timing control unit for an electronic controlled fuel injection apparatus mounted on an internal combustion engine. The fuel injection timing of a fuel injection valve is first calculated and subsequently adjusted or modified due to an amount of throttle opening or an engine speed, thereby improving the engine response when a rapid acceleration of a vehicle is necessary.

  • Patent number: 4383408
Abstract: At least one electrical signal which indicates an operating condition of an internal combustion engine is generated, and then a first air-fuel ratio feedback control system which controls a carburetor air-fuel ratio and a second air-fuel ratio feedback control system which controls the amount of secondary air supplied into the exhaust system is selectively energized so as to function in accordance with the generated electrical signal.
