  • Patent number: 8755081
Abstract: Plural recording devices that are compatible with different commands are controlled. The host computer 11 has a compatible command acquisition unit 30 that gets compatible command information identifying the commands with which the printer P is compatible, and a printer driver execution unit 21. Based on compatible command information acquired by the compatible command acquisition unit 30, the printer driver execution unit 21 manages what commands are compatible with the printer P, and outputs compatible commands to control the printer P.

  • Patent number: 8711403
Abstract: A printer driver, printer control method, and printer control program can prevent a printer from operating in unintended ways even when an old version of an application that is not multi-application capable is executed through a new version of a dedicated driver that is multi-application capable. A printer driver 20 has a dedicated driver 22 that can switch operation between a plurality of dedicated applications 27 and 28 by means of occupy requests and release requests. The occupy requests and release requests are requests that are received from the dedicated applications 27 and 28 to occupy or release a POS printer 30. When a request to start using the POS printer 30 is received from the dedicated application 27 the dedicated driver 22 tells the communication module 25 that the POS printer 30 is occupied by the dedicated application 27 and sets the POS printer 30 to an occupied status.

Abstract: A cathode ray tube includes an electron gun for emitting at least one electron beam; a mask frame include a mask having a plurality of holes or slits for allowing the electron beam to be transmitted therethrough and a frame to which the mask is attached; and a panel including a phosphor layer to be scanned by the at least one electron beam transmitted through the plurality of holes or slits of the mask. The panel includes a plurality of stud pins for supporting the frame. The frame includes a plurality of elastic supports engaged with the plurality of stud pins. At least one of the plurality of elastic supports includes an engagement portion having an engaging hole which is engaged with one of the plurality of the stud pins and an elastic portion in contact with the one stud pin. Mask frame vibration causes the elastic portion to rub against a respective stud pin so as to generate a frictional force for attenuating the vibration of the mask frame.

  • Patent number: 6573647
Abstract: A color cathode-ray tube that can attenuate vibration of an entire shadow mask positively with a simple structure. The color cathode-ray tube includes a frame-shaped mask frame and a shadow mask in which many apertures are formed in a flat plate, the shadow mask being stretched and fixed in the mask frame in a condition in which a tension force is applied in one direction. The amplitude in the end portions of the shadow mask is not less than a certain amount relative to the amplitude in the center portion of the shadow mask, in a resonance of the shadow mask caused by a vibration propagated to the color cathode-ray tube. Furthermore, by providing vibration attenuators at the end portions of the shadow mask, vibrations at the end portions of the shadow mask are attenuated as the side surfaces of the shadow mask slide on the vibration attenuators. Thus, vibration of the entire shadow mask can be extinguished positively.

  • Patent number: 6320310
Abstract: In an image display apparatus comprising a fluorescent layer formed on the inner surface of a vacuum container, an electron emission source, and a supporting member sandwiched between the fluorescent layer and the electron emission source so that the fluorescent layer and the electron emission source are kept in parallel, a displacement preventing system is provided to prevent displacement of the electron beams emitted from the electron sources caused by the charging of the supporting member. More specifically, the supporting member may be composed of an insulating portion contacting with the electron emission source and a conducting portion contacting with the fluorescent layer. An electrode portion may be provided between the insulating portion and the conductive portion. Electron sources are arranged on the insulating substrate so that the electron beams emitted from the electron sources will be landed on the fluorescent layer with an equal pitch.

  • Patent number: 6208072
Abstract: An image display apparatus includes a vacuum container whose inside is kept under vacuum, a fluorescent layer, an electron emission source having an electron source which is arranged in a matrix and electrodes having a function for focusing and deflecting electron beams, and the fluorescent layer is illuminated by the electron beam. The average electric field strength between the fluorescent layer and the electrodes is set to be stronger than that between the electrodes and the electron emission source. Consequently, electron beams can be deflected in predetermined directions, and electron beams that land on the fluorescent layer can be focused to be a predetermined size. As a result, electron beams can be landed exactly at predetermined positions of the fluorescent layer having an arrangement whose number is more than the number of the electron emission source, and an image display apparatus having high resolution can be provided.

  • Patent number: 6109993
Abstract: A substantially rectangle shaped frame for holding a flat-shaped electrode unit 7 is fixed to a rear panel 2 at four intermediate parts of the frame and is elastically held by a resilient retaining member 55a- - - 55d and 56a- - - -56d at four corners of the frame. Thereby, an engagement between the rear panel 2 and the flat-shaped electrode unit 7 via the frame is stably retained regardless of difference in degrees of deformations thereamong.
