  • Patent number: 5273105
Abstract: A heater core 21 is connected to an engine cooling water line via an inlet passageway 43 and a return passageway 45. A first valve 25a is provided for controlling the amount of high temperature water introduced to the heater core 21, and a second valve 25b is provided for a re-circulation of low temperature water that has passed through the heater core, via a re-circulation passageway 46. The amount of high temperature engine cooling water supplied to the heater core 21 and the amount of low temperature cooling water from the heater core 21 passed through the return passageway 46 are controlled by an on-off manner control of the first and second valves 25a and 25b, respectively, and thus a ratio of a mixture of the high temperature water and the low temperature water, which corresponds to a time average value of the temperature of the cooling water introduced into the heater core, is controlled in accordance with a duty ratio of the on-off signals operating the valves 25 a and 25b.

  • Patent number: 5154223
Abstract: An automotive air-conditioner has a heater core and a flexible film damper in a duct. A bypass passage is defined between the heater core and an inner wall of the duct. A heated air passage is defined downstream of the heater core. An air outlet for discharging air from the duct into a passenger compartment is disposed downstream of the duct. A flexible film damper having at least one damper opening therein is arranged to open and close the heated air passage, the bypass passage and the air outlet. The flexible film damper is driven by an driving mechanism to change the position of the damper opening so that the size of the air outlet is adjusted in response to the selected ratio of the cross-sectional areas between the heated air passage and the bypass passage.

  • Patent number: 4486837
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the operation of an automobile air conditioner comprises mode switches which permit selection between a manual control mode and an automatic control mode for the control of the flow rate of the conditioned air, and a digital computer incorporating therein a memory which memorizes the selected control mode in accordance with signals received from the mode switches. The digital computer is constituted to give instructions to control members of the air conditioner for controlling in accordance with the values stored in the memory, and to set in the memory a value representing the automatic control mode so as to operate the air conditioner in the automatic control mode when a main switch of the air conditioner is turned on.

  • Patent number: 4473109
Abstract: A control apparatus has input devices, actuators and a single chip microcomputer and is applied to control air conditioning units carried in a cab-over wagon or a one-box car. The thermal loads of the compartment sections to be air conditioned are determined by the microcomputer on the basis of informations from the input devices and calculations in accordance with the control programs written in the microcomputer. The thermal loads of the compartment sections and the desired temperatures thereof are considered in the microcomputer, which outputs various command signals into the actuators so as to actuate front and rear air conditioning units to maintain the compartment sections to be air conditioned at the desired temperatures.

  • Patent number: 4417618
Abstract: An air-conditioner control system for vehicles which is responsive to a condition in the compartment of a vehicle to move an air-flow controlling damper in an air duct. When the supply mode of conditioned air is a heater supply mode and when it is detected that the level of insolation in the vehicle compartment is higher than a predetermined level, the control system alters the supply mode of conditioned air to a bi-level supply mode.
