  • Patent number: 4733204
Abstract: An ultrasonic-wave delay line element comprises a pentagonal delay medium body formed by cutting at an angle of about 45.degree. a part of the major surface defined by a rectangular shape having two longer sides and two shorter sides, and has a pair of input and output electric-mechanic transducers provided on a side A formed by cutting the major surface. The input and output electric-mechanic transducers are attached to the cut side A at positions near longer side C contiguous to the cut side A with respect to the center of the cut side A; a reflection point for a sound-wave is provided in the cut side A while no reflection point is provided in a shorter side B contiguous to the out side A; two or more reflection points are provided in the longer side C; two reflection points are formed in the other shorter side D isolated from the cut side A; and four or more reflection points are provided in the other longer side E isolated from the cut side A.

  • Patent number: 4691178
Abstract: An ultrasonic delay line including an input transducer for producing a sound wave depending on an input voltage, a delay medium for transmitting the sound wave produced by the input transducer and an output transducer for receiving the sound wave transmitted in the delay medium has a shape such that sound waves transmitted in the delay medium are misdirected with respect to the output transducer by a predetermined amount. As a result, a substantial part of a main signal is input into the output transducer, whereas a substantial part of the sound waves having the third or higher harmonic component with respect to the main signal misses the output transducer due to the higher directivity of these higher frequency components in the delay medium.

  • Patent number: 4516090
Abstract: An ultrasonic delay line of a construction which is made up of: a casing having therein a delay medium accommodating section to accommodate therein a delay medium and a terminal accommodating section to accommodate therein planar metal terminals; and a cover to tightly close the casing, in which the terminal accommodating section has a plurality of projections to fix the planar metal terminals, a partition frame is provided between the terminal accommodating section and the delay medium accommodating section to separate both accommodating sections, the delay medium is accommodating in the delay medium accommodating section, the base part of the planar metal terminal is positioned and housed by means of projections in the terminal accommodating section, and one end of a lead wire, the other end of which has been connected with a transducer provided on the said surface of the delay medium, is connected with the base part of the planar metal terminal.

  • Patent number: 4123731
Abstract: A glass suitable for use in ultrasonic delay lines which comprises the components by weight, SiO.sub.2 42 to 27%, PbO 71 to 52% and preferably contains K.sub.2 O and/or Na.sub.2 O. The glass further contains PbF.sub.2, BaF.sub.2, KHF.sub.2, K.sub.2 SiF.sub.6, Na.sub.2 SiF.sub.6, ZnO, CdO, BaO, SrO, ZrO.sub.2, TiO.sub.2, La.sub.2 O.sub.3, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, B.sub.2 O.sub.3, Sb.sub.2 O.sub.3 and As.sub.2 O.sub.3.This invention is characterized by a low rate of shear wave propagation (V) in the glass. The delay line can be used for a dropout compensator circuit of Video Tape Recorder or Video Disk Players.

  • Patent number: 4034317
Abstract: A multiple reflection type solid ultrasonic delay line which comprises a solid ultrasonic delay medium in the form of a thin flat plate having input and output transducers and reflection elements formed on the periphery thereof, and one or more arc grooves provided on part of side surfaces which is other than desirable reflection elements for ultrasonic vibration and a low melting metal or alloy being provided in said arc grooves. In the delay lines, undesirable signals are remarkably attenuated.
