    Abstract: A card controller mounted on a memory card, includes a first interface which receives a first command from a processing device and a second interface which supplies a data-erasable nonvolatile memory chip with a second command corresponding to the first command received by the first interface. The card controller further includes a control circuit which causes the second interface to output a user data erase command as the second command. The user data erase command is used to erase all user data of data stored in the nonvolatile memory chip.
