    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an optical recording medium for recording informations by irradiating the optical recording medium with a laser beam to form a hole or a deformed part thereon, said optical recording medium comprising a substrate and a recording layer containing at least Te, Se and F in the amounts of from 35 to 94.9 atomic % of Te, from 5 to 25 atomic % of Se and from 0.1 to 40 atomic % of F, produced by a reactive sputtering, said Se being derived from selenium fluoride and a sputtering target of Te or a sputtering target comprising Te-Se-alloy, and a process for producing the same.
