  • Patent number: 11256935
Abstract: A recognition unit recognizes a specific sign in a captured image acquired by an image acquisition unit. A first notification processing unit displays a specific captured image as a captured image showing the specific sign on a display device in a vehicle. A second notification processing unit provides a notification in a notification mode different from the display of the specific captured image. The recognition unit recognizes a start sign that is a sign indicating the start of an automatic driving permitted zone as a zone where running in an automatic driving mode is permitted, as the specific sign, in the captured image. When the recognition unit recognizes the start sign, the first notification processing unit displays on the display device a start captured image that is the captured image showing the start sign as the specific captured image.

  • Patent number: 7899617
Abstract: A navigation system for a vehicle determines a recommended route to a destination among a plurality of possible routes to the destination based on total profile values of the plurality of possible routes. The navigation system guides the vehicle to the destination along the recommended route. Here, navigation system determines whether an upstream side section of one of the plurality of possible routes is located on a multi-lane road in a specific condition. The navigation system determines whether an exit road and an entrance road are connected to the multi-lane road on a common side of the multi-lane road. The navigation system sets an amount of increase to be reflected into the total profile value of the one of the plurality of possible routes based on determination results.

  • Patent number: 5948041
Abstract: When a user selects an item from a menu displayed by a display unit of a vehicular terminal, a control unit of the vehicular terminal receives information data and location data corresponding to the information data from an information center and stores the data inside a database. After receiving present position data from a present position detection unit, the control unit determines location data that is nearest to the present position from among location data stored in the database. Then, the control unit drives the display unit to display the information data corresponding to the extracted location data, thus simplifying the selection process the user needs to perform to obtain the desired information.

  • Patent number: 4760531
Abstract: A map display system for displaying a linear object on a map in accordance with stored map data is disclosed. The coordinate components of at least two specified points on the linear object and other points thereon crossing straight lines drawn in spaced relationship and in parallel with the straight line connecting the specified points are stored as map data in a memory. The coordinate components thus stored are converted into a display coordinate by a display control to generate a display signal. In accordance with the display signal the linear object is displayed on a display within a predetermined display section.

  • Patent number: 4744033
Abstract: In an electronic map display system, predetermined linear display object data of all map data are stored in a first memory according to a predetermined coordinate system. Target point data other than the predetermined linear display object data are stored in a second memory in accordance with a relative coordinate system based on the predetermined linear objects. The data of the first memory are converted into display data of designated magnification rate by a first converter. The target point data of the second memory are converted into display data in accordance with a coordinate system based on the linear display objects by a second converter. A display signal is produced to display a map image in accordance with the data converted by the first and second data converters.

  • Patent number: 4737916
Abstract: A novel electronic map display system is disclosed for displaying a map on the basis of a map data stored. Various discontinuous points in each of predetermined areas included a map to be displayed are stored as structured data in the form of vectors. The discontinuous geographic data in each of the areas is stored as image pattern data. A selection signal is produced from a display selection unit for selecting an area to be displayed from the map. In accordance with the selection signal, a display signal is generated from the pattern data and the structured data corresponding to the area to be displayed. A map of the particular area is displayed on the basis of the display signal of a display control unit.
