Abstract: It has been desired to develop a highly preservative and antibacterial cosmetic composition that can easily be applied to both emulsion and non-emulsion type cosmetics. It has also been desired to develop a method of improving a preservative and/or antibacterial effect(s) of a cosmetic composition comprising polyorganosiloxane-containing epsilon-polylysine and thereby reducing the amount of antibacterial preservative agent to be used. There is provided a cosmetic composition comprising one or a combination of two or more of polyorganosiloxane-containing epsilon-polylysine compounds obtained by reacting epsilon-polylysine with polyorganosiloxane or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof, and polyhydric alcohol.

Abstract: The compression capacity of a rotary compressor may be changed by a cylinder bypass system. The change of compression capacity is achieved by a slide wall member which composes part of an inside wall of a cylinder containing a compression mechanism and which is movable, thereby bypassing gas being compressed to a suction side of the compressor. The slide wall member is caused to slide forward by gas pressure applied and to slide backward by a spring force. By controlling such gas pressure, the capacity of the compressor may be changed. A relatively large opening is formed in the cylinder when the slide wall member is moved backward, so that the compression capacity can be greatly reduced without a large decrease in efficiency.

Abstract: An air conditioning system comprises an outdoor unit and a plurality of indoor units, a plurality of delivery conduits for supplying working fluid from a variable capacity energy source located in the outdoor unit to the indoor units, and a plurality of control valves respectively provided in the delivery conduits. A temperature sensor and a reference temperature setting device are provided for each room for transmitting corresponding temperature data to a central control unit. The central control unit detects whether the sensed temperature of each room is increasing or decreasing as a function of time and whether the sensed temperature is above or below a predetermined temperature associated with a value established by the reference setting device. Based upon these data the central control unit provides a control signal for closing the valve to divert a certain amount of the total supply energy to other rooms.

Abstract: A control system for a compressor driven by a pole-changing motor comprises a pole changer for the motor, a contactor for stopping the motor for a predetermined time in case of the pole changing, and a switch responsive to the variation in a physical quantity which occurs in the compressor every time when the latter is stopped, whereby the motor is stopped in case of the pole changing and then is started again in response to the actuation of the switch. This control system is especially adapted for use in a pole-changing-motor-driven compressor used in a refrigeration cycle of an air conditioner.

Abstract: A blower in which on a suction side of a cross flow fan having a vortex stabilizing plate and a back guider is provided a flow dividing guider, which is different from the back guider, for changing the flowing direction of a portion of the air flow. The blower in accordance with the present invention is suitable to be used as a blower for a cooling apparatus, a heating apparatus, a ventilator, and the like, and has a wide variety of applications other than mentioned above.
