  • Patent number: 7898704
Abstract: An image output controller is capable of directly or indirectly controlling a printer printing a color chart and a color measuring apparatus carrying out color measurement for the color chart. When color authentication is executed for an optionally set image, a process is carried out in relation to user's setting or automatic optimization including at least one of a printing position of the color chart, a layout of the color chart and a color value of the color chart. The printer is controlled according to a printing condition based on the user's setting or the automatic optimization so that the color chart is printed on a sheet of predetermined printing paper. The color measuring apparatus is controlled so as to carry out color measurement for the printed color chart.

  • Patent number: 7605943
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing a color conversion profile for use in a color inkjet printer, a color laser printer, or the like. In one embodiment, a spectral printing model converter is used to sample ink amount data to spectral reflectance Rsmp(?). Using this spectral reflectance Rsmp(?), colorimetric values CV1, CV2 under two different viewing conditions are calculated, and an evaluation index EI that includes an index of color difference between the colorimetric values CV1, CV2 is calculated. I another embodiment, an evaluation index EI that includes an index of color difference between sample color represented by sample ink amount data and reference color obtained from a reference color patch is calculated. Sample ink amount data having the best evaluation index EI is then selected as a representative sample. Profiles are created from the plurality of selected representative samples.

  • Patent number: 7019867
Abstract: A method and system for correcting a deviation in color balance in an image output device, without the need for performing a direct adjustment to the hardware. Image output devices may include printers, displays, or other image output devices. Deviation data may be derived from the output characteristics of every element color of an image output device, and stored at the image output device. A color correction device is provided which has the ability to receive the deviation data, and produce image data having a color correction based on this deviation data. The system can then communicate the color corrected image data to the image output device. The color correction system also may be configured to discriminate among a plurality of image output devices, with each image output device having the ability to store their own inherent output characteristics at the image output device.

  • Publication number: 20030202192
Abstract: A conventional color printing device has a problem that the device cannot deal with a case where deviation occurs in a color ink ejecting amount due to age softening of a print head. Further, it also has a problem that an adjustment at a factory is required every device to increase manufacturing process, thereby being troublesome.

  • Patent number: 6611632
Abstract: When a plurality of types of image data are superposed and written onto a color information virtual drawing screen, attribute information of each pixel is written onto an attribute information virtual drawing screen so that the image data can be read out for every type. When results of superposition are read out from a virtual drawing screen for an interpolating process, the results are read out for every type of image data on the basis of the attribute information so that an optimum interpolating process suitable for each type is carried out. Since a margin of each image data is affected by the interpolating process, superposition after the interpolating process is controlled so that the margin is rendered most suitable. As a result, optimum results of interpolation can be achieved even when a plurality of types of image data are co-existent.
