  • Publication number: 20090041719
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for screening a compound for preventing, ameliorating or treating glomerular lesions or disease of kidney, characterized by assaying the regulating activity of compound on 4F2hc expression shown by contacting human peripheral blood mononuclear cells or monocytes or an established line of human cultured cells having a nature of human macrophages with macrophage-activating substances. The screening method is useful for screening compounds capable of preventing, ameliorating or treating glomerular lesions or disease of kidney.

  • Publication number: 20060014709
Abstract: The present invention provides pharmaceuticals or cosmetics, which prevent sclerotic lesions causing apoptosis, degeneration, fibrosis and atrophy, and repair and regenerate the lesions selectively, comprising a compound which preferentially increases regeneration-promoting macrophages and a method for screening the compound which preferentially increases regeneration-promoting macrophages. Pharmaceuticals or cosmetics of the present invention are useful for renal lesions, pancreatic lesions and skin lesions, because these induce regeneration-promoting immunocompetent cells lesion-selectively against organ tissue disorders and cause repair and regeneration thereof.

  • Publication number: 20050143453
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a pharmaceutical agents for preventing and/or treating the progressive lesion after the organic damage without inhibiting organic function or regeneration function thereof, by selectively suppressing the induction of cytotoxic effector macrophages which are induced into the damaged organs in response to chemokines and cytokines which are expressed depending on the type of damaged organic tissues.

  • Patent number: 6878745
Abstract: Drugs for preventing and/or treating progressive lesions after organ damage without inhibiting the function of the organ or the regeneration function thereof, by selectively regulating the induction of cytotoxic effecter macrophages which are induced into damaged organ tissues in response to chemokines or cytokines expressed depending on the type of the damaged organ tissues.

  • Patent number: 4041335
Abstract: A damped piezoelectric ceramic resonator. The resonator is a thin flat plate of piezoelectric ceramic material which has parallel major planar surfaces and is polarized in one direction in such a way that said direction is at an angle of from 0.degree. to 60.degree. with respect to said major surfaces, the thickness dimension of said plate being such as to impart thereto a resonance of vibrations in a thickness-shear mode at a particularly selected frequency higher than one megacycle. Operating electrodes are applied to said major planar surfaces. Vibration damping means is attached tightly to the contour of the edge of said flat plate so as to suppress unwanted resonance vibrations in said flat plate during operating. The vibration damping means is a ring of a rubber material having a hardness from 20 to 70 on the Shore A Scale and is under a tension of 20-500 gm/cm.
