According to this method, a high degree of separation and removal of water content from the crude oil can be carried out regardless of the properties of the crude oil, and muddy matter can also be separated and removed.

A second substance transferring fluid inlet and an outlet communicate with the interior spaces of the hollow fiber membranes, which inlet and outlet are formed together with flow path forming members attached to the opposite ends of the housing, wherein each flow path forming member is provided with an annular protuberance.
