  • Publication number: 20060220548
Abstract: A self-light emitting panel includes a self-emission device portion formed of a single or a plurality of self-emission devices disposed on a substrate, and a sealing structure for sealing the self-emission device portion. The sealing structure includes a buffer layer for covering an upper portion and a side portion of the self-emission device portion, a barrier layer formed on the buffer layer, another buffer layer for covering the barrier layer and the first buffer layer, and another barrier layer, formed on the second buffer layer, for covering the first barrier layer and an edge of the first barrier layer. Thereby, the self-light emitting panel can be further reduced in thickness by employing the sealing structure with no sealed space formed therein to provide an enhanced barrier performance using a multi-layered barrier layer structure.

  • Publication number: 20060128252
Abstract: An organic EL panel has a support substrate on which an organic EL device layer is formed. The support substrate is adhered to a sealing substrate via an adhesive to define a sealed space for encapsulating the organic EL device between both the substrates. The sealing substrate is made of a transparent material. On the inner surface of the sealing substrate, a color filter layer is formed. This structure allows light emitted from the organic EL device to transmit through the sealing substrate after having passed through the color filter layer. A transparent moisture capturing film is formed on the inner surface of the sealing substrate to cover the color filter layer, thereby filling the sealed space with transparent moisture capturing film. Thereby, the organic EL panel is provided, which makes it possible to obtain a sufficient moisture capturing effect in the sealed space.

  • Publication number: 20050142382
Abstract: An organic EL panel formed by interposing a resin layer between a sealing cover and a substrate on which an organic EL device section has been formed, making it possible to dispense with a hardening treatment of the resin layer, thereby avoiding an organic EL device deterioration possibly caused by the hardening treatment and at the same time simplifying the manufacturing process. A substrate on which an organic EL device section has been formed, is bonded with a sealing cover which if necessary is provided with a desiccating member, through the resin layer interposed therebetween. The resin layer is formed of a high molecular elastomer, making it possible to dispense with the hardening treatment of the resin layer.

  • Publication number: 20040140762
Abstract: In an organic EL device having a lower electrode, an upper electrode, and an organic light-emitting functional layer provided between the lower and upper electrodes and containing at least a light-emitting layer, the organic EL device formed on a substrate is sealed with a transparent passivation film and a color filter is provided on the passivation film. The organic EL device can be formed thinly. In an active drive type organic EL device having a TFT provided between the substrate and the organic light-emitting functional layer, the color filter can be set after the organic EL device is sealed with the passivation film. In addition to improvement in numerical aperture and contrast, deterioration of the color filter caused by a high-temperature process for production of the TFT can be avoided.
