  • Patent number: 4760995
Abstract: This invention relates to a continuously treating line for a steel band, having a heating furnace by directly flaming. For heating the steel band with causing reduction, the heating furnace of directly flaming system is provided with a plurality of heating burners of reduction system which may form non-equilibrium range of the air and the fuel in a flame, that is, a reduction range, wherein the heating burners are positioned at predetermined arrangement with respect to the steel band and at a certain pitch predetermined in relation with an inner diameter of the burner in a line running direction. The treating line has said heating furnace constructed as mentioned above and a subsequent atmosphere furnace, and said atmosphere furnace may be provided with a sealing chamber having various means for avoiding invasion of the outer air.

  • Patent number: 4515351
Abstract: A treating furnace for manufacturing non-fired iron-bearing pellets comprising a green iron-bearing pellet inlet at one end thereof and a non-fired iron-bearing pellet outlet at the other end. Green iron-bearing pellets are continuously fed into the treating furnace through said inlet and after being heated are discharged through said outlet. The treating furnace contains at least one heating gas blowing port for blowing heating gas into the furnace and at least one heating gas discharge port for discharging said gas after it has heated the pellets. The furnace also contains a preheating zone and at least one preheating gas blowing port and at least one preheating gas discharge port to pass preheating gas through said preheating zone. The heating gas discharged from the heating gas discharge port is used as the preheating gas.

  • Patent number: 4468253
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for continuously manufacturing a non-sintered pellet, which comprises:continuously supplying a green pellet having a water content of from 6 to 20 wt. % into a shaft type reactor to continuously pass the green pellet sequentially through a pre-treating zone, a hydration reaction zone and a drying zone in the shaft type reactor; blowing a pre-treating gas with a relative humidity of up to 70% and at a temperature of from 65.degree. to 250.degree. C. into the pre-treating zone to pre-dry the green pellet in the pre-treating zone until the difference in the water content in the green pellet before and after the abovementioned pre-drying becomes at least 4 wt. % within the limits in which the green pellet in the pre-treating zone contains at least 2 wt. % water; blowing a gas for hydration reaction at a temperature of from 50.degree. to 100.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4432788
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a non-fired iron-bearing pellet, which comprise:supplying a green iron-bearing pellet containing a hydraulic binder and water into a treating furnace provided with a green iron-bearing pellet inlet at an end thereof and a non-fired iron-bearing pellet outlet at the other end thereof and having at least one heating gas blowing port and at least one heating gas discharge port, blowing through said blowing port into said treating furnace a gas containing a saturated steam at a temperature substantially equal to the heating target temperature of the green pellets, replenishing the heat of said gas lost through heat exchange with said green pellet with the condensation heat produced from condensation of at least part of the steam contained in said gas through heat exchange with said green pellets, and holding said green pellets at said target temperature for a prescribed period of time to harden said green pellets, thereby continuously manufacturing a non-fired iron-bear
