  • Patent number: 5944158
Abstract: There is provided an electromagnetic clutch which is capable of reducing a variation in torque (reaction force) from a refrigerant compressor. The electromagnetic clutch includes a hub rigidly fitted on a drive shaft, the hub having a flange portion, a rotor which rotates about the drive shaft, a magnetic coil arranged within the rotor, an armature plate which is attracted into abutment with the rotor when the magnetic coil is energized, and a plurality of spring members interposed between the flange portion of the hub and the armature plate along a circumference of the rotor, for connection between the flange portion of the hub and the armature plate.

  • Patent number: 5507627
Abstract: An oscillating-plate type compressor has five cylinder bores 6 formed in a cylinder block 1. Coolant gas compressed in the cylinder bores is discharged to a discharge chamber 12 through discharge valves 17 secured to the cylinder block 1 by means of a bolt 19. The discharge chamber 12 is separated by a baffle plate 14 into two discharge spaces 12a and 12b, the former containing a bolt head 19a and the latter communicating with the discharge port. Five holes 14a to 14e which are the same in number as that of the cylinder bores 6 are formed and arranged along an imaginary circle of a predetermined diameter around the bolt facing portion 28 of the baffle plate 14 so as to communicate both of the discharge spaces 12a and 12b with each other.

  • Patent number: 5059097
Abstract: A variable capacity wobble plate compressor includes a wobble plate (36) in the crank chamber (7) for adjusting the piston stroke; a control valve (45) for controlling the chamber pressure in the crank chamber to adjust the angle of the wobble plate; a pressure sensor (53); a rotary speed sensor (56); a heat load sensor (61); and/or a vibration sensor (62); and a control unit responsive to a signal from at least one of the sensors for controlling the control valve to prevent the compressor from entering an unstable zone.

  • Patent number: 4510659
Abstract: A vane compressor is provided which has a rotor formed therein with a plurality of axial slits opening in its outer peripheral surface in a circumferentially spaced arrangement, and in each of which a vane is received, and a plurality of cavities located between adjacent ones of the axial slits. The rotor is formed of at least two rotor elements integrally joined in an axial alignment, each rotor element being formed of a sintered alloy compact. The rotor elements are brazed along their end faces abutting against each other.

  • Patent number: 4490100
Abstract: A compressor, particularly such suited for use in motor vehicles, especially passenger cars, for instance, in the air conditioning systems thereof, includes a stator including a housing bounding an internal space accommodating a rotatable body of a rotor. An internal surface of the housing and an external surface of the rotatable body together form at least one compression space of a varying radial dimension as considered in the circumferential direction. The rotary body is provided with a plurality of recesses each of which partially receives a respective vane for reciprocation in contact with the internal surface of the housing, such that the vanes subdivide the compression space into a plurality of compartments. The medium to be compressed is sequentially admitted into the respective compartments through respective inlet openings provided in the stator. The compressed medium is discharged from the respective compartments through a passage provided in the interior of the rotary body.

  • Patent number: 4413954
Abstract: A swash-plate type compressor having a pair of passageways which each include a communication passage communicating a central opening formed in each of the valve plates mounted at opposite ends of the cylinder block with a suction opening formed in the same valve plate. The passageways each extend from the swash plate chamber to the above suction opening through the axial hole in which the drive shaft extends, the central opening and the communication passage. During the suction stroke of a piston within a cylinder bore in which the suction opening opens, oily mist in the swash plate chamber is guided in the axial hole towards the valve plates to lubricate drive shaft-supporting radial bearings mounted in the axial hole.
