  • Patent number: 4931954
Abstract: A series of data access is performed wherein a representative pixel of each divided region obtained by dividing an original image frame into a plurality of regions is sequentially accessed while increasing the number of divisions. The series of data access is repeated for each bit string so that data of each bit string obtained by dividing gradation data of each pixel into a plurality of bit strings are sequentially read out from the upper string to the lower bit string, and the resultant data are sequentially stored in a storage medium. In this manner, image data of a plurality of frames are stored in the storage medium. The image data of a plurality of frames stored in the storage medium are read out in units of predetermined number of data for each image data, and data of pixels which have not yet been read out in each image frame are interpolated and displayed.

  • Patent number: 4918534
Abstract: An optical image processing method and system in a radiographic system, wherein an image of an object is produced by an image intensifier and converted to video signal by a television (TV) camera system. A liquid crystal display (LCD) is placed bewteen the image intensifier and the T.V. camera system at a location shifted from a focal plane of the T.V. camera system. The liquid crystal display defines plural pixels which are controllable so that light produced by the image intensifier and impinging on the plural LCD pixels can be selectively attenuated by application of selected control signals to the LCD. Control signals are generated selectively based on predetermined parameters of the radiographic system and the image. These control signals are applied to the LCD to perform selective attenuation and corresponding dynamic range compression of light passing through respective LCD pixels, thereby to perform unsharp masking of the image produced by the image intensifier using the LCD.

  • Patent number: 4918713
Abstract: The radiation image in a radiation imaging system is improved by extracting a scatter distribution and subtracting the scatter distribution from the radiation image. The scatter distribution is extracted from the radiation image by an adaptive filter using a scatter-glare point spread function. The scatter-glare point spread function is obtained by measurements of the radiation system.

  • Patent number: 4656650
Abstract: In an X-ray diagnostic apparatus, it is very desirable to mitigate the adverse effect of the scattered X-ray components. When the X-ray shield member is positioned in the X-ray projection area during the first X-ray projection period, the first X-ray transmission image data is obtained. From this X-ray transmission image data, the scattered X-ray component data is calculated in the interpolation method of a SINC function. When the X-ray shield member is removed from the X-ray projection area during the second X-ray projection period, the second X-ray transmission image data is obtained that includes not only the primary X-ray components but also the scattered X-ray components. The desirable X-ray transmission image data is obtained by subtracting the first image data from the second image data.

  • Patent number: 4633307
Abstract: In a digital intravenous subtraction fluorographic system, X-ray subtraction images obtained by performing a subtraction between the precontrast images and the post-contrast images are processed by comparing, for each pixel, the value of the pixel image data in the difference image with a predetermined threshold intensity value, and recognizing the time until the value of the pixel image data reaches the threshold intensity value. The resulting time data so determined in the processor is used for displaying the distribution of contrast medium in the vessel in relation to the time periods it takes for each pixel to attain the predetermined threshold intensity. In effect, the time data for each pixel is itself converted to an intensity signal dependent on the amount of time it takes for each pixel to cross the predetermined threshold intensity, and it is the time period derived intensity signal which is displayed.

  • Patent number: 4628355
Abstract: A diagnostic X-ray apparatus emitting pulsed X-ray radiation includes a processor for performing digital X-ray subtraction of a previous mask image from current images. The apparatus includes circuitry for digitization of the video signals from an image intensifier-TV chain, digital subtraction to obtain digital difference signals, and subsequent reconversion of the resultant digital difference video signals to analog signals. Pulsed X-ray exposures are performed during the blanking periods of the TV camera following which the television fields immediately following the pulsed X-ray exposure are scanned and read out, and are supplied to the processor for performing the digital X-ray subtraction.

  • Patent number: 4618928
Abstract: An X-ray image data of a patient into which an X-ray contrast medium is being administered is processed in an X-ray image data processing apparatus so as to obtain the X-ray image data having an improved S/N ratio. The processing apparatus mainly comprises a linear differential filter that is composed of a plurality of multipliers and an adder. The X-ray image data is multiplied by a plurality of differential coefficients, and thereafter the results of these multiplications are summed.
