Abstract: Disclosed is a resource allocation system including a provisional allocation execution unit that executes provisional allocation for policies other than a policy corresponding to an accepted source request, a shared resource extraction unit that extracts a resource sharable between the policy and other policies, and a determination index calculation unit that calculates an index that depends on resource sharability, and determines an allocation destination so that a storage area is allocated on a storage device with a lower resource sharability in preference to other storage devices.

Abstract: A storage system includes a command collecting unit 40 that collects a command for a memory region targeted for transfer and extracts an access pattern from the collected command, a test command issuing unit 41 that issues a test command to a transfer destination candidate memory region using the extracted access pattern, and a response time measuring unit 42 that measures a response time to the test command. The storage system can prevent occurrence of a situation where desired performance for an actual access pattern cannot be fulfilled after data transfer has been completed.

Abstract: A disk array control apparatus is capable of individually controlling disk states of a plurality of hard disk drives disposed in a disk array. A rotation control time determination unit calculates a control time for controlling the disk state of each of the plurality of hard disk drives based on previously set time information related to a start and a stop of use, and adjusts the calculated control times based on a mutual relationship of the control times to one another. A hard disk drive control unit controls the disk state of each hard disk drive at the control time determined by the rotation control time determination unit.
