    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a biaxially stretched film according by: (I) preheating a thermoplastic resin film to a temperature in a rubbery plateau region in a storage elastic modulus curve; (II) biaxially stretching the thermoplastic resin film under a condition that a stretching speed is 500%/min or higher while heating the thermoplastic resin film to the temperature in the rubbery plateau region; (III) cooling the thermoplastic resin film after the biaxially stretching (II) to a temperature in a glass-to-rubber transition region or a glass region in the storage elastic modulus curve; and (IV) relaxing the thermoplastic resin film after the cooling (III) at a temperature in the glass-to-rubber transition region.

    Abstract: A frequency domain sensing system is disclosed for sensing the position of a high energy beam of charged particles traveling within a housing which comprises a plurality of sensors positioned in the wall of the housing radially around the axis of the beam. Each of the sensors further comprises a first electrode of predetermined shape received in a bore in the housing to define a fixed capacitance and an inductance structure attached to the electrode to provide an inductance for the sensing means which will provide an LC circuit which will resonate at a predetermined frequency known to exist in the beam of charged particles. The sensors are further provided with tuning apparatus associated with the inductance structure to vary the amount of the inductance to thereby tune the sensors to the predetermined frequency prior to transmission of the signal to signal detection circuitry.

    Abstract: Apparatus for generating a plurality of nonlinear pulse patterns from a single linear pulse pattern. A first counter counts the pulses of the linear pulse pattern and a second counter counts the pulses of the nonlinear pulse pattern. A comparator compares the counts of both counters, and in response to an equal count, a gate is enabled to gate a pulse of the linear pattern as a pulse of the nonlinear pattern, the latter also resetting the first counter. Presettable dividers divide the pulses of each pattern before they are counted by the respective counters.Also, apparatus for generating a logarithmic pulse pattern from a linear pulse pattern to any log base. In one embodiment, a shift register is used in place of the second counter to be clocked by each pulse of the logarithmic pattern to generate the pattern. In another embodiment, a memory stores the logarithmic pattern and is addressed by the second counter which is clocked by the pulses of the logarithmic pulse pattern.
